PRESS RELEASE MIES, 19/08/2021 FOR MORE INFORMATION: ISABELLE LARIVIÈRE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER [email protected] TEL +41 22 950 95 68 FIM Grand Prix World Championship 2021 calendar, UPDATE 19 August Malaysian GP cancelled and replaced by a Grand Prix at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports regret to announce the cancellation of the Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix, which was set to take place at Sepang International Circuit from the 22nd to the 24th of October. The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting entry restrictions for Malaysia oblige the cancellation of the event. The FIM MotoGP™ World Championship looks forward to returning to Sepang in 2022 to race in front of our dedicated Malaysian fans. The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports are pleased to confirm that MotoGP™ will return to Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli from the 22nd to the 24th of October, the weekend previously scheduled for the Malaysian GP, for a second Grand Prix at the classic Italian track. The name of this event will be announced in due course. Po e marrim si të vërtetë. Le të analizojmë problemet e shumta për mjedisin dhe klimën që sjellin garat motorrike, duke marrë si shembull Formula 1, që është më ndotësi nga garat motorrike dhe të shohim se sa e dëmton natyrën. Një nga problemet e shumta për mjedisin dhe klimën, që vjen si pasojë e garave të Formula 1 është çlirimi i dioksidit të karbonit nga djegia e karburantit për një garë, e cila nuk sjell asnjë të mirë materiale për njerëzit. Kjo djegie karburanti nuk është e domosdoshme si ajo e traktorit, që punon tokën për ta mbjellur, apo e autobusit, që transporton pasagjerë nevojtarë nga një vend në një tjetër. Sipas Uikipedias një makinë e zakonshme e garës Formula 1 djeg 75 litra karburant për 100 km të përshkuara. Pra 0.75 litra karburant të djegur, lëshojnë rreth 1737 gram dioksid karboni për një kilometër, sasi kjo që është pothuajse nëntë herë më shumë se sasia e dioksidit të karbonit që lëshojnë makinat normale. 1 Dhe gjatë një sezoni garash, ku përdoren afërsisht 100,000 litra karburant, i takon të prodhohet 231 ton dioksid karboni për çdo makinë. -

Access at The Silverstone Experience Information to help you plan your visit Access for everyone Silverstone Heritage Ltd, the charity behind The Silverstone Experience, is committed to ensuring it is as accessible as possible to all visitors. Our front of house staff receive training in disability awareness. If you have any queries, or need assistance, please ask. They will be happy to help you. Opening times During the summer season (mid-March to end October) we are open from 10am until 6pm. Last admission is at 4pm. Early Closing Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day – 4pm with last admission at 2pm We are closed 25 December. At major events – British Grand Prix, Moto GP, Silverstone Classic, British Superbikes, World Endurance Championship, British Touring Cars Championship visitors must have a ticket for the on track activity to purchase an admission to the Silverstone Experience. Opening hours on certain days during major events are 8am to 8pm with last admission at 6pm. There is no dedicated car parking at the Silverstone Experience during the main days of major events – visitors must park where directed on site by Silverstone Circuit event staff and walk or use shuttle buses. Travelling to Silverstone Visiting us by car Silverstone is conveniently situated right in the heart of the UK, approximately 90 minutes north of central London and 60 minutes south of Birmingham. Road access is exceptionally easy along the A43 dual carriageway from either the M40 or M1. We are based right at the entrance of the circuit in the big pink and green building. -

F1 Circuits Past and Present Silverstone Hello and welcome to this brand new mini series from Sidepodcast ‐ F1 Circuits Past and Present. As you might imagine, we’ll be taking a closer look at circuits, those that have featured on the calendar for a long time, and those that only had a brief outing. Today, we’re going to begin with the one that started it all ‐ Silverstone. Silverstone Circuit is situated next to the village of the same name in Northamptonshire, England. It is one of the tracks with the longest history associated with Formula 1 as it hosted the very first World Championship race in 1950. However, motor racing had gone on there for several years before. The circuit itself was built on the site of a World War II airfield ‐ RAF Silverstone. The site was opened in the early 40s and featured three runways. Racing enthusiasts gathered to use it as a track towards the end of the decade, and in 1948, the Royal Automobile Club (or RAC) began to rent the site for more organised proceedings. Incidentally, the RAC should not be confused with the UK breakdown recovery service. They used to own that company but no longer. The RAC we are interested in has been organising motor races since before 1950, setting up the first non‐F1 British Grand Prix at Brooklands in the 1920s. The racing at Silverstone initially incorporated the runways as part of the track, and hay bales were used to mark the route. The cross formed by the runways and therefore the track meant that at some stages, the cars were heading straight for each other ‐ not exactly an ideal racing layout. -

70th ANNIVERSARY GRAND PRIX 07 August – 09 August 2020 ollowing the British Grand Prix, F1 extends its stay at Silverstone SILVERSTONE CIRCUIT Fthis week with Round Five of the 2020 FIA Formula One World Length of lap: Championship, the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix. The event has 5.891km been named in celebration of the inaugural World Championship, Lap record: 1:27.097 (Max Verstappen, Red Bull the first event of which was the British (and honorary European) Racing, 2020) Grand Prix which took place at Silverstone on May 13th 1950. Start line/finish line offset: The circuit is noted for its fast, flowing corners but the intricacies 0.134km of the lower-speed ‘Arena’ section between Abbey and the Total number of race laps: 52 Wellington Straight are often where time is to be gained or lost. Total race distance: 306.198km Silverstone is a difficult circuit on which to overtake and qualifying Pitlane speed limits: position is frequently paramount: thus, these sections receive just 80km/h in practice, qualifying, and as much attention in set-up discussions as the famed high-speed the race turns at Copse, Stowe and the Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel complex. Whereas last weekend’s British Grand Prix used the three hardest CIRCUIT NOTES compounds in Pirelli’s range, a change in allocation this weekend ► A new 23m section of kerb with taper has been installed at the exit alters the complexion of the race. For the 70th Anniversary Grand of T13 to help drivers adhere to Prix, the allocation moves a step softer with C2, C3 and C4 tyres track limits. -

And Grand Prix racing for Formula 1 single-seater cars is the RIX GREATS toughest of them all. The ultimate ambition of every racing driver since 1950, when the com petition was first introduced, has been to be crowned as 'World Cham pion'. In this, his fourth book, author Peter Miller looks into the back ground of just one of the annual qualifying rounds-the British Grand Prix-which go to make up the elusive title. Although by no means the oldest motor race on the English sporting calendar, the British Grand Prix has become recognised as an epic and invariably dramatic event, since its inception at Silverstone, Northants, on October 2nd, 1948. Since gaining World Championship status in May, 1950 — it was in fact the very first event in the Drivers' Championships of the W orld-this race has captured the interest not only of racing enthusiasts, LOONS but also of the man in the street. It has been said that the supreme test of the courage, skill and virtuosity of a Grand Prix driver is to w in the Monaco Grand Prix through the narrow streets of Monte Carlo and the German Grand Prix at the notorious Nürburgring. Both of these gruelling circuits cer tainly stretch a driver's reflexes to the limit and the winner of these classic events is assured of his rightful place in racing history. -
