This House therefore calls upon the Provincial Govt: to contact the Federal Govt: asking it to approve the feasibility report lying with it with regard to Gwadar city and its surroundings and start work on it on immediate basis. Further more funds may also be released for under construction sodium Desalination Plant and Shadi Kor Dam, so as this project could be completed as soon as possible. Beside this, pipline project from Meerani Dam to Gwadar may also be launched a ssoon as possible. 5. Joint Resolution No.84 by Mir Abdul Rehman Jamli, Provincial Minsiter for Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Shaikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhel and Tariq Hussain Masoori Bugti, Member Provincial Assembly. Whereas the volume of recent Monson rains is much higher than the previous years which has caused loses not only to crops Spread over more than seven lac Acres of land at Naseerabad Division and Dera Bugti as well as Jhal Magsi Districts, but threes rains have also caused damage to life and property and livestock beside inundating a number of village in these areas. This House therefore calls upon the Provincial Govt: that beside compensating the financial and other losses to the people of Naseerabad, Dera Bugti and Jhal Magsi areas, these may also be declared as calamity hit areas. 6. Government Business for Legislation. Passing of University of Loralai Bill 2012 (Bill No.7 of 2012). i. Minister for Education will move that University of Loralai Bill 2012 (Bill No.7 of 2102) be considered at one. ii. Giles, Esquire, then Deputy Commissioner of that district, to prepare a Note on the Baloch and Birahoi tribes, showing their tribal connections and the feuds existing between their various branches, and other details. Accordingly, I prepared a Note on these two tribes and submitted it to him in May 1890. The Note was revised by me at the direction of C. E. S. Steele, Esquire, when he became Deputy Commissioner of the above district, and a copy of it was furnished to him. It was revised a third time in August 1895, and a copy was submitted to H. C. Mules, Esquire, after he took charge of the district, and at my request the revised Note was printed at the Commissioner-in-Sindh’s Press in 1896, and copies of it were supplied to all the District and Divisional officers.

A Glance at Balochi Oral Poetry: Problems and Prospects* by Sabir Badalkhan Balochistan, or the land of the Baloch, is generally understood to comprise an area of ca. 647,000 square kilometres1. It covers 347,190 square kilometres in Western Pakistan (Awan 1985:5), some 200,000 square kilometres in south-eastern Iran and some 100,000 square kilometres in western Afghanistan (Spooner 1983:93-94). Its exact boundaries are undetermined. Overall it occupies the southeastern part of the Iranian plateau from the Kirman desert east of Bam and the Bashagird mountains to the western borders of Sind and the Punjab (Frye 1960:1005). Geographically it is part of the Iranian plateau, and culturally and physically it is a compact entity. Politically, however, it is divided up today among Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan. The land of Balochistan is, for the most part, harsh, mostly uncultivable desert and mountainous terrain. It is a land of sharp contrast, of intense heat and cold, and of sudden and abnormal changes of temperature. It lies outside the monsoon area and its rainfall is irregular and scanty. Average annual rainfall does not exceed four inches per year and there is no perennial river to support cultivation or permanent settlement. Balochi, the language of the Baloch, is a member of the Western Iranian group of languages, and has affinities with both 3 representatives of Western Middle Iranian: Middle Persian and Parthian. It has, however, a marked individuality of its own, and differs from both of these languages in important respects (Elfenbein 1989:633).
