Його творчість отримала визнання як у слухачів, так і професійних музикантів. Інтерес до різних музичних феноменів та спрямованість на змішання стилів привели Стінга до формування індивідуально забарвленого стилю. Провідною ознакою творчості Стінга є її експериментальний та пошуковий характер. У його творах пересікаються різні музичні шари. В концертах Стінга беруть участь відомі джазові музиканти і збагачують своїми імпровізаціями пісні композитора. Він є майстром поєднання різних музичних стилів у своїх піснях, що раніше не були таким чином застосовані у напрямі поп-рок. Стінг у кожному із своїх сольних альбомів демонструє неповторну музику, що свідчить про його витончений смак та чудову творчу інтуїцію, яка допома- гає йому бути різним і самим собою одночасно. Його виконання відомих пісень має відбиток авторського стилю і власної виконавської манери. І хоча Стінга не можна назвати віртуозним музикантом, він є мультиінстру- менталістом, що дуже вдало використовує різні традиційні і рідкісні народні інструменти у своїх композиціях. Його мелодіям притаманне поєднання декламаційності і наспівності. Разом із тим вони є простими, такими, що легко запам’ятовуються, але при цьому не тяжіють до примітивізму. Нерідко британський музикант звер- тається до жанру балади, який творчо переосмислюється. Також важливо відзначити велику увагу до вербаль- ного тексту композицій. Поетичні рядки його пісень насичені філософськими роздумами і яскравими метафо- рами.

From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.
