The location of main roads and sections of premises have been renewed based on the pro- totype formed in this period. From the Meji period through Pre-war period, they were converted into resi- dences or companies, and Roppongi-dori Ave. was restructured to accommo- date a street car track, during which the framework of the District was created. Postwar period, residences which suffered war damage were recon- structed, and an international atmosphere was created by the construction of various embassies here. The rapid economic growth in the 1955’s has facilitated the formation of highways and main roads, and construction of skyscrapers, and streets com- pletely changed due to major redevelopment after 1985.
