Deadly Voices equals Deadly PeopleBy KenHersquo;s back. Author Chris Swinneyrsquo;s newest True Crime book has hit the shelves running. For those of us that follow the true crime book series this has to be right up there. Well researched, well written and easy to follow. Herbert Mullin is a sick individual and C.L. Swinney has brought that out in a quick read book that details start to finish Mullinrsquo;s life with his drugs and voices that lead the way. I really like when Chris can interject his real life police experiences into the narrative. I particularly liked the conclusion of the book. The author with all his police experience can explain what life behind bars is for the criminals while still tying up the life of Herbert Mullin. I am glad Herbert Mullin won't be listening to voices from outside prison for a VERY long time.8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Another great true crime book!By LindaAnother great true crime book by C. L. Swinney! His law enforcement background helps people like me understand our judicial system and the processes of our legal system. This book shows how a ldquo;normalrdquo; person can snap and become a serial killer. The world is a safer place with him in prison. Irsquo;m looking forward to more books by C. L. Swinney. I have also enjoyed his fiction Bill Dix series.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Another Great Book by C.L. SwinneyBy rkrystofolskiGreat book about Herbert Mullin, a California Serial Killer who murdered 13 people because of his delusion that if he sacrificed them it would prevent an earthquake of disastrous proportions. Mullin was convicted of most of the Murders he committed and sentenced to Life in Prison, coming up for parole for the first time in 2016, but thankfully denied. Also arrested around the same time as Mullin was Edmund Kemper, the 6' 9 Co-Ed Killer, who murdered 8 young female hitchhikers, his paternal grandparents, his mother and his mother's friend. Kemper and Mullin disliked each other. Kemper hating Mullin because he was disruptive and Mullin hating Kemper because he used his bulk and Superior intellect to bully him Serial Killer Herbert Mullin terrorized the Santa Cruz, California, area at the same time the infamous Co-Ed Killer, Edmund Kemper, also killed in the area. Unlike Kemper, Mullin killed anyone for various reasons- young, old, men, women, children, and even a priest in a confession booth. He didn't adhere to a particular MO. Several deadly voices told him to kill... and he killed. He remains in custody hoping to get paroled out...but he can't seem to convince the Parole Board that he won't go back to killing if he's released. "Evil and Murder are more prevalent now it seems, but there is so much more media now everywhere. This is a great novel on a serial killer at a time when no one even knew of such titles or the evil men would do. Mullin is still one of the vilest, evil, sick men even in our generation of Sickos. That is saying something!???"- Book Worm Baby"Awesome, awesome writing. This author is one to check out if you haven't yet. Well researched book. Happy to have it in my collection!"- Rachel Dakota"Very well written. Was hard to put down.-" Wilma BruntonFrom the AuthorFor those of you who don't know, I'm currently in law enforcement working in the San Francisco Bay Area. I've been in law enforcement for 17 years and I've worked as a Probation Officer, Corrections Officer, Court Investigator, Deputy Sheriff, Narcotics/Homicide detective, task force agent, and in an undercover capacity. I utilized the above experience to collect the data, police reports, statements, and other pieces of information necessary to write this true crime book. I make every effort to locate players involved in the cases I write about, but sometimes many of them are deceased as the cases occurred long ago. My main goal- which has always been the case- is to provide the victims of these serial killer cases a voice. They were people who did not deserve the demise theynbsp;unjustly met.Sincerely,ChrisAbout the AuthorChris Swinney, aka C. L.
