Sponsored by the Port Authority, LaGuardia Gateway In collaboration with the JFK Partners and Delta Air Lines in partnership with Langston Redevelopment and the Port Authority Hughes Library and Cultural Center and facilitated by Office of Environmental & Energy the Cradle of Aviation Museum, the second annual STEM Programs we hosted 32 campers in a program was conducted remotely due to COVID-19 safety week long mini camp to learn about concerns. Over the course of 3 weeks 77 students learned climate change and transportation, about planes, kites, rockets, weather and satellites, airport sustainability, renewable energy, climate change, sustainable energy, and more. LaGuardia In 2019, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey partnered with Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology to launch a four year scholarship Redevelopment program for students in Queens. Along with the scholarship students receive Opportunity paid internships at the Port Authority during the summers of their enrollment at Scholarship Vaughn and are eligible for a position with the Port Authority upon graduation. This past summer the first round of scholarship recipients interned with the Port Authority and this past September the second round of students entered their freshman year at Vaughn. To date, eleven scholarships have been awarded to students from communities around LaGuardia Airport.
