I have been working in the film and tv industry for 5 years and have worked on programmes on channels for the like of the BBC, ITV, CH5 and I have worked alongside names such as Pierce Brosnan, Dave Bautista, David Tennant and Margot Robbie. I have thoroughly enjoyed working at venues like Warner Brothers and Pinewood studios on English, American, European and Indian productions. I have also been in adverts for companies such as Fosters, Childline and Three Mobile and I am 70% through filming my own feature length film called This is Life, which will be released on the Amazon Prime platform. I am an established DJ and previously from 2000-2012 I ran several of my own monthly/weekly and one off club events. I had a full promotions team and crew of DJs and performers and we were very successful. I have still kept my contacts from the music industry and everyone is looking forward to the lockdown ending, the venues opening and us all starting events again. I am looking forward to continuing my working relationship with Danceparty247 to put on the best regular events in Essex. Hi I'm Dj Envy I have been a DJ for around 20 years I have played all over London, Essexand the Midlands. I have held residencies at bars and clubs in London and Essex. I play everything from UK Garage, House, Electro House Club Classic's main stream Dance,Tech House and Techno. I have also played on lots of radio stations like Shine FM, Phatbeatz, Ukg Soldiers, Electro Soundz, Sunrise247. I am a co-owner of danceparty247.club where I play to about 300 listeners per show. I also have been a promoter in the past running my own events over the UK I have extensive knowledge of the industry. I am Dj Wongy. I started DJing in the early 90's, playing private parties to friends. Towards the end of the decade, I progressed to playing out in bars. These include Caeser's, Departure Bar, and the George & Dragon to name a few. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to get a gig in Night Life, San Antonio, Ibiza. I stepped in and covered another DJ who did not turn up and played a 3-hour set and rocked the dancefloor. I have played on many internet stations including Astrokandi and Phatbeats. I currently am a co-owner of Danceparty247 where I currently have a weekly show, playing House, Electro House, Commercial House, and Trance. I am ready to rock the dancefloor once more come this June. I’m Sam Saint. Over the past 6 years I’ve been dj’ing across numerous venues. I’ve played at some of the liveliest bars in Essex and the surrounding areas, including Wild Lime in Reading, Blackbirds in Hertford and Deco Lounge. I’ve played many private parties across Essex and London. Whenever and wherever I’m playing, I will always play with a unique swagger and make sure that dance floor is always full!. Over the coronavirus pandemic and numerous lockdowns, I’ve been doing my thing on Danceparty247. Putting on weekly shows to a virtual audience, I’ve managed to keep people across the world together and united through my music keeping the desire to hit the clubs burning! My genres include various styles of house, including Tech-House and Commercial. I can’t wait to be back in the clubs and pubs with hundreds of people connected together by the music that surrounds them. I'm DJ Destiny, I’ve always enjoyed music. I fell in love with UK Garage & started learning to mix in 1998. Uk Garage is my primary genre but I also like to mix Electro, House & Trance. I started out mainly doing house parties & birthday parties. I joined Sunrise247 internet Radio Station in 2007 and have also played on other radio stations included Smoking Tires and Astrokandi. For the last 12 months I've had a regular weekly slot on danceparty247.club and have recently started to co-manage the station. I’ve played out at various nightclubs over the years including Departure Bar in Shoreditch and Club 195 in Essex. Other than paid work I have done events for charities including ‘Mind Mental Health Charity’ and have also set up DJ workshop courses teaching young people how to mix. I am DJ Te. My DJ journey started at 19 years old. However, I have been more seriously djing for the last 15 years. For the last 12 months, I have concentrated on internet radio/tv streaming due to COVID. I stream a regular weekend show capturing around 250-300 listeners playing Commercial House, Tech House, and Progressive House. I co-own and run danceparty247.club which is where I stream my shows. As part of Danceparty247 development with the other co-owners, we are looking to put on Live events back in the real world. I am based in Sheffield and I have had residencies at local bars (Buzz Stop Bar and Riverside) playing Commercial House and UK Garage. I have done many a party, birthdays, and weddings over the years. Outside of my normal area, I have played at Departure Bar in Shoreditch and Time in Derby on several occasions. .

craft production just because of what it does with sampling technology and that alone. It’s got quite a conservative form and quite a pop form as well just at the moment, in terms of the clarity of the sonics. When those elements are added to hip-hop tracks it must be difficult to make the vocal stand out. The biggest challenge is always getting the vocal heard on top of the track — the curse of the underground is an ill-defined vocal. When I went to bigger studios and used 1176s and LA2s it was a revelation, chucking one of them on gets the vocal up a bit. That’s how we were able to blag our way through Dizzee’s first album. What do you use in Dizzee’s vocal chain? With the budget we were on when I did Boy In Da Corner I used a Neumann TLM103B. When I bought it, £500 seemed a hell of a lot of money for a microphone. Then it goes to my Drawmer 1960 — I exchanged a couple of my keyboards for that. Certainly with Showtime, the new desk improved the vocal sound. It would be interesting to just step the gear up a notch, now we have the deal with XL, and see what happens. Do you have a label deal for Dirty Stank records with XL? I Love You came out first on Dirty Stank on the underground, plus other tunes like Ho and some beats. XL has licensed the albums from Dirty Stank so it’s not a true label deal in that sense, although with our first signings, it’s starting to move in that Nick Cage direction.

  • Master Thesis the Changes in the Dutch Dance Music Industry Value
Master thesis The changes in the Dutch dance music industry value chain due to the digitalization of the music industry University of Groningen, faculty of Management & Organization Msc in Business Administration: Strategy & Innovation Author: Meike Biesma Student number: 1677756 Supervisor: Iván Orosa Paleo Date: 11 May 2009 Abstract During this research, the Dutch dance music industry was investigated. Because of the changes in the music industry, that are caused by the internet, the Dutch dance music industry has changed accordingly. By means of a qualitative research design, a literature study was done as well as personal interviews were performed in order to investigate what changes occurred in the Dutch dance music industry value chain. Where the Dutch dance music industry used to be a physical oriented industry, the digital music format has replaced the physical product. This has had major implications for actors in the industry, because the digital sales have not compensated the losses that were caused by the decrease in physical sales. The main trigger is music piracy. Digital music is difficult to protect, and it was found that almost 99% of all music available on the internet was illegal. Because of the decline in music sales revenues, actors in the industry have had to change their strategies to remain profitable. New actors have emerged, like digital music retailers and digital music distributors. Also, record companies have changed their business model by vertically integrating other tasks within the dance music industry value chain to be able to stay profitable. It was concluded that the value chain of the Dutch dance music industry has changed drastically because of the digitalization of the industry.

  • Grime + Gentrification
GRIME + GENTRIFICATION In London the streets have a voice, multiple actually, afro beats, drill, Lily Allen, the sounds of the city are just as diverse but unapologetically London as the people who live here, but my sound runs at 140 bpm. When I close my eyes and imagine London I see tower blocks, the concrete isn’t harsh, it’s warm from the sun bouncing off it, almost comforting, council estates are a community, I hear grime, it’s not the prettiest of sounds but when you’ve been raised on it, it’s home. “Grime is not garage Grime is not jungle Grime is not hip-hop and Grime is not ragga. Grime is a mix between all of these with strong, hard hitting lyrics. It's the inner city music scene of London. And is also a lot to do with representing the place you live or have grown up in.” - Olly Thakes, Urban Dictionary Or at least that’s what Urban Dictionary user Olly Thake had to say on the matter back in 2006, and honestly, I couldn’t have put it better myself. Although I personally trust a geezer off of Urban Dictionary more than an out of touch journalist or Good Morning Britain to define what grime is, I understand that Urban Dictionary may not be the most reliable source due to its liberal attitude to users uploading their own definitions with very little screening and that Mr Thake’s definition may also leave you with more questions than answers about what grime actually is and how it came to be.

  • Garage House Music Whats up with That
Garage House Music whats up with that Future funk is a sample-based advancement of Nu-disco which formed out of the Vaporwave scene and genre in the early 2010s. It tends to be more energetic than vaporwave, including elements of French Home, Synth Funk, and making use of Vaporwave modifying techniques. A style coming from the mid- 2010s, often explained as a blend of UK garage and deep home with other elements and strategies from EDM, popularized in late 2014 into 2015, typically mixes deep/metallic/sax hooks with heavy drops somewhat like the ones discovered in future garage. One of the very first house categories with origins embeded in New York and New Jersey. It was named after the Paradise Garage bar in New york city that operated from 1977 to 1987 under the prominent resident DJ Larry Levan. Garage house established along with Chicago home and the outcome was home music sharing its resemblances, affecting each other. One contrast from Chicago house was that the vocals in garage house drew stronger impacts from gospel. Noteworthy examples consist of Adeva and Tony Humphries. Kristine W is an example of a musician involved with garage house outside the genre's origin of birth. Also understood as G-house, it includes very little 808 and 909 drum machine-driven tracks and often sexually explicit lyrics. See likewise: ghettotech, juke house, footwork. It integrates components of Chicago's ghetto house with electro, Detroit techno, Miami bass and UK garage. It includes four-on-the-floor rhythms and is normally faster than a lot of other dance music categories, at approximately 145 to 160 BPM.
