Nestled in a quiet spot down a single-track lane is Ridgeway Court, a handsome property with sandstone dressed blocks, half-timbering, Mullion windows and a Georgian façade. The current owner has lived here for 25 years and says, “it’s such a welcoming place to come home to and I’ve loved being surrounded by nature; even on a dull day it’s great to cosy up and just enjoy the views. It has all the bonus of country living with easy access to the outside world; it’s secluded and private yet not remote”. The property has a great sense of space with plenty of versatility and boasts a large detached garage which the current owner has taken great pride in converting; “It features an office, luxury bathroom with a sunken spa bath and TV room and underfloor heating throughout giving a crisp, modern feel”. Downstairs is the garage/workshop with parking space for four cars with access by electric up and over doors. The village is within easy reach of Bromsgrove and Droitwich Spa, where you’ll find amenities such as a Waitrose, restaurants and train stations. The area is ideal for accessing transport networks as J5 of the M5 in only five minutes away. Birmingham International is easily accessible and offers trains to London’s Euston whilst Birmingham Airport is a short drive away. “The house has great character and the solid square rooms are large and welcoming. The garden has a good mix of mature trees, borders and flower beds and just to the side, but belonging to the property, is a one-acre orchard with apple, pear, plumb and cherry trees”. “The orangery is my favourite room, which was added 20 years ago, is a wood, sandstone and brick building in keeping with the style of the house – it is a large airy room with a Bougainvillea spread against the end wall. It has a wonderful atmosphere and is a great place to relax”. “It’s a house you’ll never get bored of as there’s always something to look at and admire. When I first moved here it struck me that whilst living in Birmingham any kind of bad weather would feel grim, whereas here it’s a joy to watch the changing seasons and the surrounding countryside”. “I’ll miss the detail in the house; the general sense of space and the familiarity and feeling that the house is there to look after you.” * These comments are the personal views of the current owner and are included as an insight into life at the property.
