EDF is the developer of the proposed Cypress Wind Power Project near Dunmore, Alberta and is seeking approval of the proposed lighting plan. Please find attached the AOE form, a spreadsheet and a map showing the latest proposed turbine locations (subject to change). The map is at a scale of 1:50k (when printed on 11” x 17” paper). The current turbine model being considered is the Vestas V116 with the following characteristics: total turbine height (to upper blade tip) will be 168 m; the rotor will consist of three blades made of fibreglass reinforced plastic (with a lightning protection strip) with a total diameter of 116 m; the tower will be 110 m tall and will likely be made of conical steel. The lighting to be installed will be as per Standard 621; the exact specifications and monitoring details will be determined at a later date. A preliminary land use proposal was previously sent to NAV CANADA prior to the turbine locations being available; an updated notification with the specific turbine model and locations will be sent to NAV CANADA. 1 2 Please let me know if you have any questions or need any further information. The only change that has been made is the Owners name. The project has just received capitalization, therefore all applications and permits must be under the following name: “Cypress Renewable Energy Centre Limited Partnership”. Unfortunately, the Owner field in the Aeronautical Assessment form did not allow for the full spelling, therefore some of the words were abbreviated to make it fit. It would be much appreciated if the entire name, as shown in bold in this email, be used in any approval/determination that Transport Canada may have. Once implemented, this engagement process should apply across all City departments, resulting in an easy to follow framework for the City to engage public opinion and expertise. In January of 1997 the North Peace Airport Society signed documents transferring ownership from Transport Canada to the Society. As of March 18, 1997, the airport is operated by North Peace Airport Services Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Vancouver Airport Services. The North Peace Airport Society introduced an Airport Improvement Fee September 01, 1998 to raise funds for the renovation and construction of the Air Terminal Building. The new terminal building was completed in the fall of 2005. The North Peace Airport Society continues to work diligently to ensure that the airport is able to meet the needs of local industry and commerce. Planning for Fort St. John Air Show is Well Underway – by Scott Brooks, energeticcity.ca The planning for the 2019 Fort St. John Air Show is well underway. Fort St. John Air Show Events Organizer, Lana Neitz, says the 2019 event will be packed with talent and performers. “We’re looking at some really neat warbirds. We’re bringing the Kitty Hawk; we’re bringing in the Harvard’s of the Harmon Rockets… we were talking with some many performers down at the ICAS airshow convention. The Snowbirds will be here, and we’ve put in a request to the military to see if they will bring any other shows to do some tactical exercises.” According to Neitz, there will also be a huge fireworks display, and there will be some more performers added to the lineup as the show date draws near.

  • Saamis Prairie View Cemetery, Medicine Hat, Alberta. (Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens)
    Saamis Prairie View Cemetery, Medicine Hat, Alberta. (Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens) This cemetery is located on the north side of Highway #3 four kilometers west of the entrance to the Medicine Hat airport. Legal land description is NW 04-12-06-W4. This property formerly known as Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens was developed in about 1955, the first burials were in 1956. The number of interments at this location dropped drastically in the early 1990's due to high costs and lack of maintenance. Since Saamis Funeral Home purchased this cemetery from the provincial government in early 1996 its usage has increased dramatically. Improved maintenance has returned this site to its former attractive appearance. As at August 29, 1996, there were just over 800 burials with about 625 of those marked with the approved flat grave marker. Much of the data below was gathered during a site visit September 18, 1999. Many of the original flat type grave markers are being replaced with upright stone markers. Burials number just over 1100. Abrahamson David Delno Jr. 52 years, died Sunday, November 20,2005, of David and Kay Abrahamson. Abreu Lois Audrey born September 09, 1932, at Edmonton, Alberta, died Friday, September 07, 2007, at Medicine Hat, Alberta, of Earl and Eva Dowling married October 08, 1966, at Edmonton, Alberta, to Mario Abreu. Acott May born 1888, buried September 25, 1963. Adams Elizabeth born 1886, buried March 30, 1968. Adel Edward Ludwig born 1912, buried February 28, 1984, husband of Mildred Mae Adel. Adel Mildred Mae born 1915, buried December 29, 1976, wife of Edward Adel.
