First up on Center Court is a rematch of the Sofia final in February, when Roberto Bautista Agut beat Viktor Troicki for the title. Bautista Agut, seeded No. 2 after accepting a wild card, is a two-time winner on the ATP World Tour in 2016 (also Auckland) and bidding to reach his first ATP final on American soil. On the two occasions the Spaniard has reached semi-finals on tour in 2016, he has gone on to win the title. This is the 20th ATP semi-final of Troicki’s career (9-10) and third of 2016 (2-0) after reaching finals in Sydney (d. Dimitrov) and Sofia (l. to Bautista Agut). The No. 9 seed is aiming to reach his 10th ATP final, and second in the U.S. – his only other stateside final came at 2008 Washington (l. to del Potro). Not before 7pm, John Millman plays in his first ATP World Tour semi-final against Spaniard Pablo Carreño Busta, whom he beat in in their first meeting at ATP Masters 1000 Miami in March. The Aussie Millman comes into the match after collecting the biggest win of his career, downing No. 1 seed and World No. 15 Richard Gasquet in straight sets following comebacks from a set down in the first, second and third rounds. Carreño Busta, seeded 16th, eyes the third ATP final of his season and career, having fallen in finals at São Paulo and Estoril. Should Carreño Busta and Bautista Agut advance, it will be the third all- Spanish ATP final of 2016 (Almagro d. Carreño Busta in Estoril, Ramos-Viñolas d. Verdasco in Båstad).
