• World No. 1 (ESP), No. 2 (SRB) and No. 4 (AUT) make their ATP Cup debuts Saturday as the second match of the night session in Perth, Brisbane and Sydney respectively.

• Thiem takes on Borna Coric (CRO) at Arena in Sydney. • The oldest of the 118 players at the ATP Cup is expected to compete on Saturday. , a 41- year-old from , is scheduled to team with Ben McLachlan, 27, against the Cuevas brothers in Perth.

• Matsui is currently No. 759 in the FedEx ATP Rankings and No. 177 in the FedEx ATP Doubles Rankings. He is the oldest of the 1,927 ranked singles players and the eighth-oldest of the 2,247 ranked doubles players.

• Matsui played collegiately at BYU-Hawaii (1997-2000). He lists German captain as his tennis idol.
