OUR COVER IMAGE Alejandro Solórzano is a Research Associate at the Museo de Zoología, Universidad de Costa Rica, who over the last 40 years has been studying the herpetofauna of the country . Included in his numerous contributions is the bilingual book Snakes of Costa Rica: Distribution, , and Natural History, published by INBio in 2004 . For decades, he was the Director of the National Serpentarium, a private institution that displayed amphibians and reptiles for education and tourism . Pictured on our cover is a Costa Rican Hog-nosed Pitviper (Porthidium volcanicum), which Alejandro described in 1995 . This only is known from a few localities in southwestern Costa Rica, and in 2012 it was ' © Gerardo Chaves discovered in southwestern Panama .
