The articulated train (far right) was built by Pullman in 1947, while the CTA bus July 2006 (far left) of the 3730-3875 series was built by the Flxible Company of Loudonville, Ohio in 1968-69.

In order to obtain input from its customers, CTA sent two specially-designed August 2006 I“Suggestion buses” around town to gather opinions about the design of the interiors of the buses, such as color scheme and types of seating.

Built by the St. Louis Car Company in 1959, 1-50 series rail Icars were specially equipped with door controls and fareboxes in the operator’s cab. At that time, trolley September 2006 poles were required for service north of Howard Street.

As the street railway system was phased out in favor of rubber-tired vehicles, the electric trolley bus emerged as an attrac- Ctive alternative. Bus 9553, built by the Marmon-Harrington Company, was part of CTA’s order of 349 October 2006 trolley buses units built in 1951-52—the largest order of trolley buses in world at that time.
