The specific purposes of the trip: Conduct consultative meetings with stakeholders (Nepal government officials at the national and district level including local NGOs, USAID implementers and Universities of Nepal) in Kathmandu to share the plan of the research project in CHAL, Nepal to stakeholders and solicit suggestion/feedback from participants specifically policy maker, researchers and experts to refine the implementation strategy. Visit research field site and discuss with local stakeholders (researcher, farmers, donor program implementers, government officials, women groups and local 1 agriculture enterprise) about the current climate change, biodiversity and IPM related issues and share the program plan and have their feedback related to steps to be taken for the climate mitigation, adaptation and building rural economic opportunities and women's entrepreneurship through best practices for farmers. To finalize the research topics of Masters and PhD students and the provide training to write research proposal and present during stakeholder meeting. Meeting with USAID/Hariyo Ban program and iDE Nepal for synergistically working in Nepal. To conduct stakeholder consultative meeting in the various research sites from Chitwan-Annapurna Landscape. Meeting with the USAID IPM Innovation lab team from Virginia Tech and IPM Asia group to discuss the plan of activities and seek advice and feedback to improve the program deliverables and M&E. 2 1.5 Sites Visited: The sites of the visit were Kathmandu, Puranchaur, Pokhara, Chhyang Chhyangdi VDC Syangja district, Gaidakot Municipality, Nawalparashi district, Fulbari and Chamauli VDC of Chitwan district (see table 2). Description of Activities/Observations: 3 This visit is categorized under three main sections. 2.1 Meeting with team members and interaction workshop, 2.2 Field visit and interaction with farmers, 2.3 Meeting with various stakeholders. 2.1 Meeting with team members and workshop: Four interactive meetings and one large consultative stakeholder workshop was organized in Kathmandu between 27 to 29, January, 2016. a) The first joint meeting was held with team members from CUNY, TU and AFU on January 27 at Hotel Greenwich, Lalitpur, Nepal. There were 14 participants in the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the project objectives and implementation plan for 2016. Also,
