An attention is led especially to the hebaceous and arboreous layers, the bryophytes are monitored only exceptionally. In this paper there are presented the results of the research of the bryophytes in the secondary forests in the broader surroundings of the town of Banská Bystrica (middle Slovakia). In 57 localities with various types of subsoil there were found 41 species of bryophytes (38 mosses and 3 liverworts). Most of them represent common species distributed in whole Slovakia. Besides the survey of the found species there are presented their ecological and chorological characteristics as well. Key words: bryophytes, secondary forests, Slovakia Úvod Sekundárne lesy sú v okolí Banskej Bystrice výrazným krajinotvorným prvkom. Ich vznik nesúvisí len s vysádzaním nepôvodných drevín v lesných porastoch, ale najmä so zalesňovaním pôvodných poľnohospodárskych plôch. Počiatky zalesňovania poľnohospodárskej pôdy v tejto oblasti začali pravdepodobne na prelome 19. a 20. storočia a trvali až do 70. rokov minulého storočia. Výskumu lesov s nepôvodným drevinovým zložením bola na Slovensku venovaná väčšia pozornosť hlavne na Záhorí, kde sa na viatych pieskoch nachádzajú rozsiahle plochy sekundárných borín. V iných častiach Slovenska boli tieto lesy študované už v menšej miere a zo Zvolenskej kotliny je známa len práca Malajterovej a Kontriša (MALAJTEROVÁ & KONTRIŠ 2007) o kultúrnych smrečinách okolia Sliača a Očovej. Pri hodnotení sekundárnych lesov si autori všímali predovšetkým stromovú, krovinovú alebo bylinnú etáž porastov, zatiaľ čo machová vrstva ostala vo väčšine prípadov prehliadnutá (cf. KONTRIŠ & JURKO 1982, JURKO & KONTRIŠ 1984, ŠOMŠÁK et al. 2000, KONTRIŠ et al. 2007). Cieľom našej práce je preto vyhodnotenie druhového spektra machorastov nepôvodných lesov nachádzajúcich sa v širšom okolí Banskej Bystrice, čo má význam pre dôkladnejšiu charakteristiku antropogénne vytvorených lesov i pre doplnenie poznatkov o bryoflóre tohto územia. 3 Metodika Machorasty boli zbierané v roku 2005 v rámci fytocenologického snímkovania lesov s nepôvodným drevinovým zložením rastúcich na lesných pozemkoch alebo vysadených na poľnohospodárskom pôdnom fonde. Fytocenologické zápisy boli vykonávané prevažne v severnej časti Zvolenskej kotliny, menej v oblasti Horehronského podolia medzi obcami Badín a Vlkanová (okres Banská Bystrica) na západe až po Valaskú (okres Brezno) na východe. Geologické podložie na lokalitách tvorili väčšinou karbonáty, v malej miere tiež andezity a riečne sedimenty acidického charakteru. Miesta zápisov boli situované v lesoch s dominujúcimi borovicami (Pinus sylvestris, P. nigra) a smrekom (Picea abies) v stromovej etáži v nadmorskej výške 366 – 646 m. Podľa lesníckych podkladov vek sledovaných lesných porastov je v rozmedzí 21 – 120 rokov. Lokality zberov sú znázornené na obr. 2. Na determináciu machorastov bola použitá literatúra PILOUS & DUDA (1960), FRAHM & FREY (1992) a SMITH (1978). Vybrané ekologické vlastnosti, chorologická charakteristika a životné formy machorastov sú uvedené podľa Borosa (BOROS 1968), názvoslovie je podľa Kubinskej a Janovicovej (KUBINSKÁ & JANOVICOVÁ 1998). Fig. 1: The interior of the secondary pine forest near by Iliaš village. 4 Výsledky Zo 70 fytocenologických zápisov zaznamenaných v lesoch s nepôvodným drevinovým zložením sa machorasty na povrchu pôdy vyskytovali v 57 snímkoch. Pokryvnosť vrstvy E0 v nich bola nízka, iba v 15 snímkoch presiahla hodnotu 10 % (výnimočne až 40 %, resp. 60 %). Spolu bolo zistených 41 druhov (3 pečeňovky a 38 machov). Ich súpis a prehľad lokalít výskytu je uvedený v tabuľke 1. Hodnotenie vlastností jednotlivých druhov podľa nárokov na vodu, svetlo a pH substrátu je uvedené v tabuľke 2. Výrazne prevládajú mezofytné a mezohygrofytné druhy s priemernými až mierne zvýšenými nárokmi na vlhkosť substrátu (83 %), xeromezofytných, mezoxerofytných alebo xerofytných druhov s nižšími, resp. nízkymi nárokmi na vlhkosť substrátu je podstatne menej (17 %). Vo vzťahu ku ekologickému faktoru svetlo dominujú druhy uprednostňujúce tienisté stanovištia (82 %), zatiaľ čo druhov charakteristických pre viac oslnené stanovištia je omnoho menej (18 %). Na karbonátovom substráte sme zistili 37 druhov, na andezitovom 15 druhov (Atrichum undulatum, Brachythecium velutinum, Cirriphyllum piliferum, Dicranella heteromalla, Dicranum scoparium, Eurhynchium angustirete, Fissidens bryoides, F. taxifolius, Herzogiella seligeri, Hylocomium splendens, Hypnum cupressiforme, Plagiomnium affine, Pleurozium schreberi, Pohlia nutans, Pseudoscleropodium purum) a na podklade pozostávajúcom z fluviálnych sedimentov 14 druhov (Brachythecium starkei, B. velutinum, Dicranum scoparium, Eurhynchium angustirete, Herzogiella seligeri, Hylocomium splendens, Hypnum cupressiforme, Plagiomnium affine, Plagiothecium curvifolium, Pleurozium schreberi, Pohlia nutans, Polytrichum formosum, Pseudoscleropodium purum, Rhytidiadelphus triquetrus). Výlučne na karbonátovom substráte rástlo 22 druhov (Brachythecium albicans, B. salebrosum, Bryum caespiticium, B. capillare, Ceratodon purpureus, Ctenidium molluscum, Dicranum polysetum, Eurhynchium striatum, Fissidens dubius, Lepidozia reptans, Lophocolea heterophylla, Plagiochila porelloides, Plagiomnium cuspidatum, P. undulatum, Plagiothecium nemorale, Tetraphis pellucida, Thuidium abietinum, T. delicatulum, T. philibertii, T. tamariscinum, Tortella tortuosa, Weissia controversa), len na andezitovom substráte 4 druhy (Atrichum undulatum, Cirriphyllum piliferum, Dicranella heteromalla, Fissidens bryoides) a iba na fluviálnych sedimentoch žiaden druh. Ostatných 15 druhov machorastov rástlo na rôznych typoch substrátu. V porovnaní s Borosovým hodnotením (BOROS l.c.) sme viacero acidofilných druhov zaznamenali len na bázickom podloží (Dicranum polysetum, Eurhynchium striatum, Lepidozia reptans, Lophocolea heterophylla, Plagiothecium nemorale, Tetraphis pellucida, Thuidium tamariscinum) alebo na andezitoch (Dicranella heteromalla). Z pohľadu zastúpenia jednotlivých druhov v rámci všetkých lokalít s výskytom machorastov dominoval acidofilný mezofytný sciofyt Plagiomnium affine (60 % z celkového počtu zaznamenaných lokalít), s nižšou frekvenciou boli zastúpené Hypnum cupressiforme, Pleurozium schreberi a Pseudoscleropodium purum (46 %), Brachythecium velutinum a Eurhynchium angustirete (40 %), Hylocomium splendens (37 %), Dicranum scoparium (35 %), Fissidens taxifolius (26 %), Brachythecium starkei a Rhytidiadelphus triquetrus (25 %). Podobne ako 5 dominujúci druh aj tieto ostatné sú označované zväčša ako mezofytné sciofyty s indiferentným vzťahom k vlastnostiam substrátu, resp. sú acidofyty. Podľa zaužívanej 9-člennej stupnice hodnotenia abundancie a dominancie prítomných druhov vo fytocenologických zápisoch (BARKMANN et al. 1964) jednotlivé druhy machorastov dosahovali prevažne hodnoty pokryvnosti „+“, alebo „1“. Z tohto pohľadu najväčšiu pokryvnosť dosahovali druhy, ktoré zväčša boli aj najfrekventovanejšie – Pleurozium schreberi (hodnota „3“), Eurhynchium angustirete, Hylocomium splendens, Hypnum cupressiforme, Plagiomnium affine, Polytrichum formosum a Pseudoscleropodium purum (hodnota „2a“). Fytogeografická charakteristika zistených machorastov je uvedená v tabuľke 2. Úplne prevládajú druhy s cirkumpolárnym rozšírením (73 %), v malej miere sú zastúpené kozmopolitné a európsko-severoamerické druhy (spolu 19 %). Európske, euroázijské, atlanticko-mediteránne a kontinentálne prvky sú zastúpené len výnimočne (spolu 8 %). Z hľadiska zastúpenia životných foriem machorastov majú prevahu (56 %) plazivé, rozprestreté a kobercovité machorasty (Bryochamaephyta reptantia). V rovnakom pomere boli zastúpené trávnikovité machorasty (Bryochamaephyta caespitosa) a vrcholoplodé, ortotropné machorasty bez osobitných rastových foriem (Bryochamaephyta). Zaznamenané taxóny machorastov patria na Slovensku k rozšíreným a bežným. Dominujú druhy lesných fytocenóz (Brachythecium starkei, Dicranella heteromalla, Dicranum polysetum, Eurhynchium angustirete, Plagiothecium curvifolium,

Cassida ferruginea GOEZE is recorded from Japan for the first time. This species was previously misidentified and noted under name C. panzeri WEISE. Occurrence of Cassida mongolica BOHEMAN in Japan is confirmed based on new material. Male and female reproductive systems are redescribed for C. ferruginea and described for the first time for C. mongolica. INTRODUCTION CHÛJÔ (1934) was the first to comprehensively study Japanese and Taiwanese Cassidinae (s. str.); he listed 34 species. YASUTOMI (1952) listed 24 species of Cassidinae (s. str.) from Japan. KIMOTO (1966) revised Japanese Cassidinae and listed 27 species. KIMOTO (1994) treated records of C. mongolica from Japan as misidentification of C. fuscorufa, Thlaspida formosae as the synonym of T. biramosa, and listed 25 species from Japan. OTSUKA (1994) recorded C. mongolica from Japan again. BOROWIEC (1999) resurrected C. japana and C. crucifera from the synonym. KOMIYA (2002) described Notosacantha nishiyamai from Okinawa, Japan. Presently 29 species of Cassidinae (s. str.) are known from Japan. For a long time the male and female genitalia of Cassidinae have not been consi- dered in identifying species and in systematics.     Bulletin of Insectology 63 (1): 137-152, 2010 ISSN 1721-8861 Bumble bees of the Susa Valley (Hymenoptera Apidae) Aulo MANINO, Augusto PATETTA, Giulia BOGLIETTI, Marco PORPORATO Di.Va.P.R.A. - Entomologia e Zoologia applicate all’Ambiente “Carlo Vidano”, Università di Torino, Grugliasco, Italy Abstract A survey of bumble bees (Bombus Latreille) of the Susa Valley was conducted at 124 locations between 340 and 3,130 m a.s.l. representative of the whole territory, which lies within the Cottian Central Alps, the Northern Cottian Alps, and the South-eastern Graian Alps. Altogether 1,102 specimens were collected and determined (180 queens, 227 males, and 695 workers) belonging to 30 species - two of which are represented by two subspecies - which account for 70% of those known in Italy, demonstrating the particular value of the area examined with regard to environmental quality and biodiversity. Bombus soroeensis (F.), Bombus me- somelas Gerstaecker, Bombus ruderarius (Mueller), Bombus monticola Smith, Bombus pratorum (L.), Bombus lucorum (L.), Bombus terrestris (L.), and Bombus lapidarius (L.) can be considered predominant, each one representing more than 5% of the collected specimens, 12 species are rather common (1-5% of specimens) and the remaining nine rare (less than 1%). A list of col- lected specimens with collection localities and dates is provided. To illustrate more clearly the altitudinal distribution of the dif- ferent species, the capture locations were grouped by altitude. 83.5% of the samples is also provided with data on the plant on which they were collected, comprising a total of 52 plant genera within 20 plant families.

V prostoru primárního bezlesí arkto- alpinní tundry byl studován vliv sjezdových tratí a invazivní d eviny borovice kle e ( Pinus mugo ) na spole enstva brouk . Na území sekundárních bezlesí podhorských luk a pastvin byl hodnocen vliv zem dlského hospoda ení na brouky a další bezobratlé. Studium vlivu lyža ského areálu prokázalo, že p estože jsou sjezdové trat v alpínské zón zájmového území provozovány zp sobem šetrným k vegetaci, tak pr kazn m ní pvodní spole enstva epigeických brouk .

During the revision of leaf-beetle material in the collection of Institute of Biology, University of Latvia more than 630 specimens were reviewed belonging to 124 species (Megalopodidae – 2, Orsodacnidae – 1, and Chrysomelidae – 121). INTRODUCTION Since KUTHY’s (1897) volume on Coleoptera in the Fauna Regni Hungariae no complete list of the Elateridae of Hungary has been published. KUTHY men- tioned 148 species (including Drapetes cinctus (PANZER, 1796) in the family Euc- nemidae) known to occur in Hungary, but many of his records refer to former Hun- garian regions now belonging to Slovakia, the Ukraine, Romania, Serbia and Croatia. A number of species listed by him are not expected to occur in present-day Hungary, either because they belong to the fauna of the higher regions of the Carpathian Mountains or because they are species with a more southern distribu- * Corresponding author.
