  • Prevention of Femicide a Report by the Asmt Hindu Community April 2021
PREVENTION OF FEMICIDE A REPORT BY THE ASMT HINDU COMMUNITY APRIL 2021 Introduction 1. The human rights situation for women and children in India1 is abysmal2. Despite tremendous public outcry3 against crimes against women and children such as rape, sexual violence, gender- based harassment, and female infanticide happen unabated in India. The State of the Republic of India has been either unwilling or unable to curtail these crimes. India is the most dangerous country for sexual violence against women, according to the Thomson Reuters Foundation 2018 survey.4 According to the National Crimes Records Bureau, the rape of minor girls increased by 82% in the year 2016 compared with the previous year.5 2. Sexual violence and brutal rape have been weaponized against minority women and children by extremist militant elements at the highest levels of governance. This weaponization of sexual violence targeting women and children is part of a more pervasive and systematic campaign targeting certain indigenous spiritual traditions, minority communities, and their leaders,6 especially those from linguistic and religious minority groups, and of dark-skinned people of indigenous spiritual traditions, and of ethnic native-Hindu tribes that have existed in India for millennia.7 One such indigenous spiritual tradition currently targeted for extermination by the Neo-Hindutva8 extremist militants is the Hindu Adi Shaiva Minority Tradition (“ASMT”) in India. The women, children, and young girls of the ASMT community were the most vulnerable target of the Neo-Hindutva extremism. 3. The ASMT explicitly rejects extremism of all types. The extremist militant elements are opposed9 to ASMT’s stance when it comes to the rights of women10, including otherwise marginalized Dalit women, and the rights of members of the LGBTQ+ and transgendered communities11.

Indian Journal of Economics & Business, Special Issue China & India (2006) : 1-... FINANCIAL SYSTEM CONSTRAINTS IN CHINA AND INDIA A COMPARATIVE PERSPECTIVE SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY Harvard University China and India are currently among the fastest growing economies in the globe. Continued growth at the current rates or higher, has enormous implications for the globalisation process underway and the consequent re-structuring of world economic order itself. However, economic history is strewn with examples of countries such as in Latin America and lately in East Asia that had grown promisingly at first but only to falter later and fall behind because of an economic crisis. Such countries have been therefore unable to regain their earlier momentum. On the other hand, the US and West European nations constitute another category of nations which grew in a sustained way to become and remain by modern standards developed countries. Focusing on the financial sector, this paper explores the question: into which category of nations will India and China fall? I. INTRODUCTION China and India are currently among the fastest growing economies in the globe. Together the two nations represent 38 percent of the global population. Continued growth of the worlds second and fourth largest economies respectively [measured by PPP based GNP] at the current rates or higher, has enormous implications for the globalisation process underway and the consequent re-structuring of world economic order itself. In 1997-98, several of the most dynamic and fast growing East Asian economies suffered severe financial crisis that devastated them. This event revealed that growing economies could not be sustained with a weak financial system.

In an intra mail the Director, Sunil Sarangi has intimated the staff that the Registrar Santosdh Kumar Upadhyaya has been suspended. When contacted Sarangi said: “I had to take the ultimate step as there was no way out. He has been suspended for insubordination and dereliction of duty. His activities were unbecoming of his post due to which I had to take such a step”. The Director also informed that the suspension has been ordered as per the statute of the institute. “The 26(1) clause mentions that the Director has the power to suspend the Registrar and I have done it within the ambit of law”, said Sarangi. “The whole aim of the suspension was not to let any negative atmosphere prevail in the campus”, he said. The Registrar, however, said: “I am the secretary of the Board of Governors and I had to communicate certain decisions of the Board as well as certain circulars and orders to the Director in my capacity as secretary who acts on behalf of the Board.” The Director wanted the orders to be revoked and pressurised me to do so, said the Registrar. Following this the Director issued instructions that the orders of the Registrar did not have necessary sanctions as per the rule, added the Registrar.
