15-Minute-Break-Catalogue Part-II
Research exhibition on labor Выставка-исследование and leisure in two parts о труде и отдыхе в двух частях October 9—November 15, 2020 9 октября — 15 ноября 2020 Part 2 Часть 2 Дорогие друзья! Dear Friends! We are delighted that, with support of the Presidential Grants for Civil Society Development Foundation, Research Arts Interdisciplinary Center and Triumph Gallery, we are now able to present the second part of 15 Minute Break, hosted by our museum. Whereas the first part addressed labor and the changes it undergoes in the modern world, the second installment examines the time exempted from labor. The artists’ installations, video, audio, paintings, drawings, contemporary sculpture and photography contemplate the time of active leisure and replenishment of energy, Владимир Филатов the time of idle anticipation and laziness, the time of immersion Блюдо «Море» 1967 into own thoughts and contemplation. -
OAG Hearing on Interactions Between NYPD and the General Public Submitted Written Testimony
OAG Hearing on Interactions Between NYPD and the General Public Submitted Written Testimony Tahanie Aboushi | New York, New York I am counsel for Dounya Zayer, the protestor who was violently shoved by officer D’Andraia and observed by Commander Edelman. I would like to appear with Dounya to testify at this hearing and I will submit written testimony at a later time but well before the June 15th deadline. Thank you. Marissa Abrahams | South Beach Psychiatric Center | Brooklyn, New York As a nurse, it has been disturbing to see first-hand how few NYPD officers (present en masse at ALL peaceful protests) are wearing the face masks that we know are preventing the spread of COVID-19. Demonstrators are taking this extremely seriously and I saw NYPD literally laugh in the face of a protester who asked why they do not. It is negligent and a blatant provocation -especially in the context of the over-policing of Black and Latinx communities for social distancing violations. The complete disregard of the NYPD for the safety of the people they purportedly protect and serve, the active attacks with tear gas and pepper spray in the midst of a respiratory pandemic, is appalling and unacceptable. Aaron Abrams | Brooklyn, New York I will try to keep these testimonies as precise as possible since I know your office likely has hundreds, if not thousands to go through. Three separate occasions highlighted below: First Incident - May 30th - Brooklyn - peaceful protestors were walking from Prospect Park through the streets early in the day. At one point, police stopped to block the street and asked that we back up. -

POWER RANGERS 3-25-14 Script
POWER RANGERS ||||| Written by Max Landis Based on "Mighty Morphing Power Rangers" Created by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy 2nd Draft 3/25/14 Max Landis [email protected] Space. Darkness. And then, a flash of fire, passing us, hooking us in its trail, pulling us along with it, a tiny meteorite plunging down into earth’s atmosphere... WE FOLLOW IT Down burning through night sky, clouds, then out over the ocean, plunging into the water with a burst of steam. After a moment, there’s another plop, another burst of steam. And then, like raindrops, hundreds of tiny fragments begin striking the ocean, when suddenly- A HUGE fireball, CRASHING INTO THE OCEAN- dragging us under- Revealing a title, coming up slowly, from the murky depths... POWER RANGERS SLAM TO: A dead fish. Out on the beach. Dozens...no, hundreds; it’s a mass wash-up, disgusting, covering the beach of idyllic ANGEL GROVE, California, as far as the eye can see. School buses are parked next to the beach; it’s a big volunteer clean-up, people everywhere. We’re near a carnival pier, the centerpiece of which is a huge, colorful, old-fasioned ferris wheel. A sign reads “WELCOME TO ANGEL GROVE, HOME TO AMERICA’S 4TH 5TH LARGEST FERRIS WHEEL!” The pier is clearly currently closed. JASON Scott, 17, kneels next to a shark. Jason’s alpha male good-looks and natural athleticism are dampened by an immediate aloofness; he’s rough around the edges, anxious. JASON Look at the teeth on this guy. William “BILLY” Cranston, 17, approaches behind him, putting fish into a plastic bag solemnly. -

The work explores the life of Ellis, Lotte, Diana John-John and Lauren as they wander through a variety of circumstances, which center on loss and grief. As the novel develops, the author loses control over her intentionality; the character’s she claims to know fuse together, leaving the reader to wonder if Lauren is synonymous with Ellis or if Diana is actually Lotte disguised by a signifier. Red, Yellow, Blue questions the author’s as well as the reader’s ability to understand the transformation that occurs in an individual during long periods of grief and anxiety. -

CHASING THAT GHOST ON STAGE: THE HAUNTED CONTINENT AND ANDREW BIRD’S APOCRYPHA A Thesis presented in partial fulfillment of requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in the Department of Southern Studies The University of Mississippi by M.E. LASSETER May 2013 Copyright M.E. Lasseter 2013 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED ABSTRACT This thesis traces the various physical and metaphorical journeys south of Chicago musician Andrew Bird. Using what historical record is publicly available, I examine Bird’s formal musical training. I then explore the years between 1995 and 2001, or what I call Bird’s period of apprenticeship. Next is an exploration of the canonical narratives surrounding the blues of the Mississippi Delta, especially the music of Charley Patton. When Andrew Bird encountered a canon, or dominant histories and meanings of Southern music that influence how musicians play and how audiences interpret that music, he began to react against that canon in his own compositions and performances. -

The Best Spec Scripts of the Year They Lied
I THINK AMERICA FORGAVE TONYA HARDING WHEN THEY ALL TUNED INTO THE 1994 OLYMPICS. THEY WERE REALLY SAYING THANK YOU, CRAZY- PANTS, FOR A ONE OF A KIND STORY WE WEREN’T GONNA SEE WITHOUT SOMEONE LIKE YOU • SHE CAN TALK. SHE CAN WALK. SHE CAN READ AND WRITE FOR THE MOST PART. SHE CAN PASS FOR NORMAL ENOUGH. BUT I CANNOT KEEP WORRYING ABOUT HER AS A TICKING TIME BOMB FOR THIS FAMILY’S FUTURE. WE HAVE NINE CHILDREN. EIGHT OF WHOM I WILL CONTINUE TO SHEPHERD IN CARRYING FORTH MY NAME INTO HISTORY - BUT NOT ROSEMARY • NINE-ELEVEN IS WHAT DID IT, I GUESS. WAS THE FIRST TIME I SAW THERE WERE PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT JUST ... HATED US. SO I WANTED TO DO MY PART, PROTECT THE COUNTRY FROM THOSE WHO WOULD SEE US BROUGHT LOW • WILL DEMPSEY WAS THIRTY-ONE YEARS OLD WHEN HE FINALLY GAVE UP ON HIS SAM JACKSON UNRELIABLE NARRATOR SCREENPLAY. HE’D BEEN WORKING ON IT SINCE 7:30 AM. WILL LOOKS UP AT THE CLOCK. IT’S 7:47 AM. THE HIT LIST 2016 THE BEST SPEC SCRIPTS OF THE YEAR THEY LIED. ALL OF THEM. THEY LIED AND TOLD US THAT WHAT WE WERE DOING WAS GOOD. THAT WE WERE HELPING PEOPLE WHO COULDN’T HELP THEMSELVES. BUT THAT WASN’T IT AT ALL. NO ONE WANTED US THERE. SO, THEY, WE, JUST SENT A BUNCH OF YOUNG MEN TO DIE. AND IT SHOULDN’T JUST BE US TO KNOW THE TRUTH • YOU FEEL THAT? I’M NORTH. YOU’RE SOUTH.
