Cowboy Mouth Re-Releases Radio Hit For Immediate Release Cowboy Mouth Re-Releases Radio Hit "Jenny Says," Announces New EP Open Wide New Orleans, LA (February 3, 2020) - It has been said that on a bad night Cowboy Mouth can do no less than then blow the roof off, and on a good night they’ll save your soul. That’s as true in 2020 as it was when they first burst out of New Orleans in 1990 and tickled the Top 40 with “Jenny Says”. The song helped propel the band onto the national club and festival scene- cementing Cowboy Mouth’s place as one of the most powerful, durable, and consistently entertaining rock and roll bands on the circuit. They’ve been in the saddle for thirty years and have played over 3,500 shows. Fred, John, Brian and Mike have not withered like saplings; they’re mighty oaks now. Fred doesn’t mince words. When asked about the secret to the band’s longevity and completely constant roadwork, “bullheaded tenacity and determination”, he says, “with a pretty healthy dose of faith in there.” Good things to have, not to mention also being able to stride onstage in front of a crowd and beat the tar out of them, 3,500 times. 2020 finds the band embracing their roots while also looking ahead to the future. They have re-released “Jenny Says” on all major outlets, billed as “Jenny Says (Jenny 20)”. According to Fred “What can I say? A good song is a good song. Every once in a while as a songwriter you get very lucky. I know I did with “Jenny Says.” The song still packs a powerful wallop and remains relevant two decades later. “Jenny 20” is what “Jenny Says” would have sounded like if we had written it in 2020 instead of 1992. Five songs ranging from head-knocking rock and roll, funky riffage and a good old-time sad country song. On said opus, they’ve taken John Denver’s ‘Thank God I’m a Country Boy’, extracted all of Denver’s obvious punk tendencies and brought them to the fore like the madmen they are. (Jason & the Scorchers would be proud.) “Oh Toulouse!” is the story of a relationship through the eyes of the major painter with little in the way of legs. Fred LeBlanc says “I was in France and saw his name on a street sign – it’s a singable name – and it blossomed with a really good rock-funk riff.” (What other rock band gives you a celebration of a 19th Century post- impressionist? You don’t get that from Nickelback.) And then you have the surf-beat of “Kiss the Baby”, followed by “King of the World” which Fred calls “a punk rock sermon.” The sad cry in your beer country of “The Last Sad Song” winds up the collection like turning out the lights and pulling down the curtains on a fantastic and wide-ranging collection of new Cowboy Mouth. Laketown Fest will feature classic rock superstar Eddie Money and local boys gone good, Cowboy Mouth! Also scheduled to appear are perennial crowd favorites, Rockin’ Dopsie, the Chee Weez, and the Topcats! Laketown Fest will be held on Saturday, November7th where Williams Boulevard meets Lake Pontchartrain, next to the Treasure Chest Casino. Proceeds from the Laketown Fest will be used to help fund the City of Kenner Parks and Recreation Department. Eddie Money’s musical style is characterized by his recognizable vocals and catchy melodies, and his numerous MTV music videos throughout the 1980s. One of the things that made Eddie Money such a huge success throughout his career is his connection to his fans. “I have probably signed every copy of every album I've made.” Those albums feature such hits as Two Tickets to Paradise, Baby Hold On, Shakin’, Take Me Home Tonight, Walk on Water and Think I’m in Love.
