KENNER, LA. – Mayor Ed Muniz announced the second annual Laketown Festival in Kenner today. Laketown Fest will feature classic rock superstar Eddie Money and local boys gone good, Cowboy Mouth! Also scheduled to appear are perennial crowd favorites, Rockin’ Dopsie, the Chee Weez, and the Topcats!

Laketown Fest will be held on Saturday, November7th where Williams Boulevard meets Lake Pontchartrain, next to the Treasure Chest Casino. Proceeds from the Laketown Fest will be used to help fund the City of Kenner Parks and Recreation Department.

Eddie Money’s musical style is characterized by his recognizable vocals and catchy melodies, and his numerous MTV music videos throughout the 1980s. One of the things that made Eddie Money such a huge success throughout his career is his connection to his fans. “I have probably signed every copy of every album I've made.” Those albums feature such hits as , , Shakin’, Take Me Home Tonight, Walk on Water and Think I’m in Love. Eddie Money still has the energy, charisma, and strong voice which make him the continuing legend that he is in today's rock world.

Cowboy Mouth means, “one with a loud and raucous voice”, and it describes the band well! With over 2000 shows under their belt there is still one quote which best captures their performance. “On a bad night they’ll tear the roof off the joint and on a good night, they’ll save your soul”.

Cowboy Mouth is rock n' roll. Releasing nearly a dozen records, and featured on TV shows and radio stations everywhere, Cowboy Mouth have preached and shouted at the top of their lungs the joys of being alive and the joys of being in and from New Orleans, sharing a slice of Mardi Gras heaven with fans around the world. As front man Fred LeBlanc said, "If the Neville Brothers and had a baby, it would be Cowboy Mouth."

Crowd participation is a must at a Cowboy Mouth show. Led by Fred's larger-than-life presence, the band's performances are high-energy and extraordinarily intense, usually leaving audiences as drenched and spent as the band. Cowboy Mouth fans range from ages five to age eighty-five, but they have one thing in common - as Fred confides to the audience, "Cowboy Mouth is about pretending that you're five years old, naked as a jaybird and about to turn the hose on your parents, and there's not a damn thing they can do about it."

Rounding out the top flight talent at Laketown Fest are three proven crowd pleasers, the Chee Weez, the Topcats and Rockin’ Dopsie!
