Very good, but its essential to read Identity Crisis first. All about Dr Light's revenge. Not bad but I'm not enough of a Dc boy to fully appreciate the history the characters have between themselves, namely GA, Dr Light and Merlyn. Art is so-so, the issues drawn by Ron Garney being the best of the lot by far. Apparently, this would be an Identity crisis tie-in, which I haven't read, but the story holds on its own. Having the show runner for Arrow pen this arc was a huge mistake. The things that make Arrow a pleasure to watch are not easily translated to the comics. The chemistry between the actors, etc. This rather tired story of yet another evil billionnaire is boring fast, and the introduction of Felicity into the DCCU is annoying and just awful. Like this entire collection. Not even the art can save this pile of shit. Jan 18, Will Cooper rated it liked it. Not terrible, but doesn't live up to it's potential from the start. King looks like a philanthropist but is secretly controlling most of the city, whichever city he takes over. So this should be VERY hard to overcome. But Green Arrow and crew later don't take too many hits cleaning up his takeover. Feb 02, Mr. Green arrow rated it really liked it. One of my favorite g. I just enjoy this story. Nov 12, Will Robinson Jr. Okay maybe this volume of Green Arrow was not as great as the now legendary Jeff Lemire run but it was still pretty entertaining. So DC Comics decides to take a safe route with the new team of writers being the writers of the hit TV series "Arrow". Can you say "Money Grab"? But I never judge a book by its cover. I adjusted to the new artwork okay. Basically the Green Arrow is joined by Diggle and the DC Comics introduction of Felicity Smoak in taking down a pseudo philanthropist who is obsessed Okay maybe this volume of Green Arrow was not as great as the now legendary Jeff Lemire run but it was still pretty entertaining. Basically the Green Arrow is joined by Diggle and the DC Comics introduction of Felicity Smoak in taking down a pseudo philanthropist who is obsessed with using his wealth and influence to takeover Seattle. John King in true mastermind fashion has collected data on almost everyone in the city and even knows the identity of the Green Arrow as Oliver Queen. There are some great action scenes especially the battle with Merlyn the rival archer. I felt that some of the story moved a little to quickly at times but other than that the book is standard superhero fair. But this is not a bad thing. After such an emotionally and life changing story arc it is always good to bring new readers in with an easily accessible story arc. My last complaint is something that I can not control because comics are a business. But did we really have to make this series resemble its TV counterpart there was already a TV series comic book. But nevertheless it was worth the read. Oct 12, Beelzefuzz rated it it was ok. This is the 7th Green Arrow collection. It took awhile, but I was able to put that annoyance aside and try to enjoy it as an arm of the TV show, since that is all I was getting in the Green Arrow world, but lord almighty this is so poorly written. This feels like DC's attempt at a kids comic with some violence thrown in to make it adult. The writing is so juvenile that it is offensive in places. Just reread books or read something before New 52 ever happened to Ollie and hope Rebirth is semi-decent. Oct 18, Max Z rated it did not like it Shelves: comics. Also I'm the bestest hacker and I do all my work-related talks in World of Warcraft! Nice to meet you, nya! With too many silly jokes and banter, this book does a screeching on everything before that. They could've just simply do a 6-issue limited run. Leaving that aside, how is the bad guy conflict resolved? Simple, by calling Batman, and a couple more characters just to fill the page. Job done, cam "My name is Felicia- chan and I'm here to kill you, nya! Job done, cameos cameoed, see ya on TV, suckers. Dec 20, Alex rated it liked it. This was good. I actually enjoyed this arc more than almost anything done by Lemire, who I feel used too much expository dialogue. This was fast, fun, and interesting, but it had issues with letting readers really understand why King is such a big deal. We see him doing a couple of despicable things and talking about his mission, but he could have done with a backstory to really drive his mission home. As is, this is a solid start for the new creative team. I hope future arcs give scenes and char This was good. I hope future arcs give scenes and characters some more exposure and room to breathe. Oliver Queen takes the Sherwood Florist 's van to the Handee Wash, getting some coffee in the meantime. While he's gone, an employee of the car wash named Rita Librado stumbles upon the proprietor, Eric, doing something suspicious. Elsewhere, Dinah Lance enters a jewelers' store to pick up an item. Oliver returns home and books a trip to Anchorage , Alaska so he can see the Iditarod dog sled race, and investigate a connection with a Chinese Tong gang. When he tells Dinah, and asks her to come with her, she seems disappointed, saying that she can't go because she has to run the business. She allows him to go, however, despite her feelings. Rita, having noticed the Sherwood Florist's logo on the van when Ollie got it washed, visits Dinah to thank he for staying with her in the ambulance when she had overdosed on drugs during the Robin Hood Killer case. Rita and Dinah go to a coffee shop where Rita reveals that she was fired from her job under suspicious circumstances.

Of course in typical DC editorial screw up fashion, that book isn't being released until October. First up is the annual. It's a tie-in to : No Justice. It's OK, but Carmen Cornejo's art is great. Then the main story deals with the Citizen. He's out to bring his brand of justice to the one percent by offing them for their crimes. It was alright but the ending had a lot of logic leaps that were left unanswer Make sure you read Heroes in Crisis first or you are going to be very upset. It was alright but the ending had a lot of logic leaps that were left unanswered. Javier Fernandez started off the story with German Peralta finishing up. Fernandez's art reminds me of Norm Breyfogle which is not a bad thing. Sep 10, Wing Kee rated it did not like it. Wow, these two stories were very One these couple of issues are from writers who are not the new team and one is a tie in to No Justice to the world building is small and contained. The world building needs to make sense. The world building needs to be realisitic especially when dealing with other cultures. Story: The two stories found here by two separate are rather problematic. I know that Ollie is trying to save and help the people in the first two issues because Deathstrokes muck things up but the white savior issue in the first two issues is a problem. Add to that the half baked world building and stereotypes that make the world is an issue. I know these are issues that are important but this is not how to write them. The last time I read a good superhero going overseas was G. Willow Wilson with Ms. Well meaning and should are different things. Then there are the list of other ho hum characters found in this book tied to the world. The prison story was also rather bland and the characters derivative. This was a terrible story. Onward to the next book! View 1 comment. Jul 20, Chris Lemmerman rated it really liked it. Unlike the description of this volume here, this collects issues and Annual 2 of the Green Arrow series, skipping issues which were fill-in stories by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly. Instead, this volume's content is almost the entirety of the Benson sisters' run on the title, which includes an excellent Heroes In Crisis tie-in that deals with the ramifications of Roy Harper's death, as well as the Citizen's Arrest storyline which pits Dinah and Ollie against a vigilante who thinks crowdsourced executions are a good way to clean up the city. Citizen is a good foil for Ollie and a very social justice themed villain, which fits nicely with the more down-to-earth portrayal of Green Arrow in the series thus far. Annual 2 is a tie-in to Justice League: No Justice, in which Ollie gets given something that could take down the entire Justice League. If you've read No Justice, you'll see some scenes repeated in their entirety which is a little unnecessary, but it's a nice way to show that the League actually give a shit about Ollie despite leaving him out all the time these days. It's a shame that this story is followed up in issues , which are being collected in a Heroes In Crisis tie-in volume instead of anywhere you'd expect to find them. For art, we've got Javi Fernandez for the first half and German Peralta for the second - it's a shame Fernandez couldn't finish out the story because he really fits nicely in Green Arrow's world; his art is always a little spindly and kinetic, and that makes the action scenes play out really well. Peralta's good, but not as good as Fernandez, which is probably why Fernandez was poached for Justice League instead. The annual is drawn by Carmen Carnero, probably her last DC work before also being poached, this time by Marvel. I really liked what the Bensons did here. They're great at humanizing the characters, and they've got a lot of practise writing Black Canary from their run. The art's a little inconsistent, but the story is in the right place. Don't let GoodReads' description fool you - this one's far more important than it makes it appear. Nov 07, RG rated it did not like it. I read these as single issues. Woah what happened here. The artist changed as well and that was one of the drawing cards. Very dissapointed here. Feb 11, James DeSantis rated it really liked it. Been awhile since I jumped back into Rebirth Green Arrow. Now that the final volume just came out even though series has been done for like 8 months I decided to catch-up on the final two volumes. How does Benson do? Well pretty good. First we have a tie in with No Justice. The less said about that portion the better. Now we move on to the main story. Uh-oh, it looks like your Internet Explorer is out of date.
