They achieve this bright, fresh, and dry white by letting mother nature create complexity – they allow all of the grapes to ferment together, with native yeast. There is grit and saltiness in the wine, along with floral, honeysuckle and tropical fruit notes balanced by chalky texture and minerality. Blend of Riesling, Gewrztraminer, Muscat, and other grapes | Organic | 91 Points Wine Enthusiast Montenigo Veneto Bianco Anfora 2018 Italy Retail: $19.95 | Sale: $17.95 This Montenigo white is actually made from 100% Corvina grapes with spontaneous fermentation and aged for 6 months in oak vat, unfiltered and low in sulphites. Aromas of white flowers and citrus welcome you into the glass. On the palate it is dry and mineral with well-persistent tannins. Ideal with our Locke Store tortellini salad or excellent as an aperitif! Corvina | Organic Forlorn Hope Queen of the Sierra Rose 2019 California Retail: $22.95 | Sale: $20.66 Unfined, unfiltered rosé from Calaveras County. This thirst-quenching blend of Zinfandel and Barbera is one of our favorite rosés for 2020. Winemaker Matthew Rorick uses fruit grown in the cool Sierra Foothills (at the edge of Stanislaus National Park) which is whole-cluster pressed to old 60-gallon barrels where it awaits spontaneous fermentation and sits on the lees for several weeks. This medium-bodied and somewhat cloudy wine oozes with flavors of watermelon & cranberry with mineral undertones. Pair with slightly spicy cuisine or simply sip on its own! Zinfandel | Barbera | Organic Ampeleia Costa Toscana Rosso UnLitro 2019 Italy Retail: $21.95 | Sale: $19.75 Ampeleia was born in 2002 from the collaboration and friendship between Elisabetta Foradori, Thomas Widmann and Giovanni Podini. Unlitro comes from vineyards at an altitude of 200-300 meters above sea level in area where the climate marked by sea breezes and the vines are surrounded by chestnut woods. Aged for 6 months in cement, 'Unlitro' – one litre of Ampeleia – is a one-liter bottle expression of the freshness and vitality of the estate. Red-fruited and juicy, this is perfect for pizza night, pasta with tomato-based sauces or simply to sip on with bowl of olives and your favorite people. Grenache | Carignan | Alicante Bouschet Forlorn Hope Queen of the Sierra Estate Red 2019 California Retail: $22.95 | Sale: $20.65 The fruit for this estate blend comes from Rorick Heritage Vineyard in Calaveras County at 2000’ elevation, featuring soils comprised of a layer of schist over dolomite-rich limestone. This wine is aromatic and complex with compelling dynamic tension between its bright and forward fruit and the supple tannins and lively acidity that make up it's backbone. Barbera | Trousseau Noir |Tempranillo | Graciano | Cabernet Sauvignon | Organic Francesco Scala Ciro Rosso 2018 Italy Retail: $19.95 | Sale: $17.95 Scala’s vineyards are planted almost entirely to native varieties, including Greco, Maglioppo, Gaglioppo, Nerello, and Mantonico.
