We are located Sunday 3:30pm-4:30pm in in the Iowa City area and devote most of our attention to Eastern Iowa, but we will help Programming Room 2 out whenever and wherever we can. Our Mission Our goal is to provide resources to people interested in Science Fiction and related areas. Here are the sorts of things we can provide now: • Central Communication for Fans • Local Science Fiction/Fantasy, Gaming and Anime Conventions • Volunteer Support for SF/F related events • Convention Registration and Accounting Services • Author Signings (as available) • Book Group • Film Group 2 AnimeIowa is a project of the • Board Game Library • Video Game Library Mindbridge Foundation Entrance to AnimeIowa Registration At-The-Con Pre-Register for Hours Badge Pricing 2022 Thursday 5:30PM - 8:30PM Weekend Adult/Minor $65 Sunday 9:00AM - 4:30PM Child $15 Friday 9:00AM - 8:00PM Adult/Minor $35 Saturday Day Pass $45 Saturday 9:00AM - 4:00PM Child $15 Sponsor Upgrade Varies Sunday 9:00AM - 4:30PM Sponsor $125 (Subject to availability) After Hours Badge Pickup After Registration closes, badges for attendees who have pre-registered only are available at the Bridge located on the 2nd floor of the Marriott Hotel from 10:00PM until Midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. Badges • Badges must be worn above your belt, below your neck, be on the front of your body, and be visible at all times. • The only exception is detailed in the Masquerade Section. • You are free to put your badge in any holder. • If you do not have one, badge holders will be provided by Registration. • Costumes must not cover up your badge. • You must present your badge if asked by sta, ranger, or volunteer door badger. • By wearing the AnimeIowa Convention badge, you give AnimeIowa permission to use your image or likeness for promotion of the convention. Sta and Security • Sta members wear a large/unique badge which boldly states Sta on the front. • Rangers are a part of AnimeIowa’s security. They are here for your safety and to help make sure the convention runs smoothly. • Sta or Volunteer Rangers will be wearing identifying badges or uniforms when on duty during the convention. • On duty Rangers have the same authority as sta members. Replacement Badges • Replacement badges can be purchased at the registration desk for a $10.00 fee. • We will require your ID again. Your replacement badge will have the same badge number as your first. • If you find a lost badge, please turn it in at the Bridge’s Lost and Found. • If you find your lost badge, turn in the replacement badge. If someone besides you is found wearing your badge, both parties will be brought to the Convention bridge and dealt with accordingly. Masquerade Event • Participants in the Masquerade are not required to wear their badge while on stage or while costumes are being judged. But outside the green room or Main Stage, you MUST put your badge back on. Age Limit Restrictions • All attendees age 12 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult at all times while on event property. • Unattended children age 12 and under will be reported to the Bridge and a Ranger or sta member will stay with them at their location until their registered adult is located and brought to their location. • Persons under the age of 18 must provide emergency contact information for a person at or near the convention Badges and Convention Space • Only persons with a badge are permitted within all areas that are considered part of the AnimeIowa convention. • If you have yet to purchase a badge, you may not wander the halls. • Persons without badges will be escorted to Registration to purchase one or be required to leave convention space. • A Convention Badge is required to Volunteer. Badge Refunds • No refunds can be issued at the convention. For further information please visit: http://mindbridge.org/by-laws/refund-policy/ All adult attendees are required to bring photo identification (photo ID) with them to the Photo convention. Minors between 13-17 can use school issued IDs to facilitate badge pickup. Government issued Photo ID’s are required for Adult badge pickup. Identification These ID’s include: Policy State or Providence Issued Drivers License State Issued ID Military ID Passport Adults entering age-restricted events will be required to show photo ID, your badge is not acceptable. 3 Convention Rules & Information Convention Center and Hotel Don’t Litter - Trash bins are all around the convention center and hotel. Keep it Clean! Signs and Adhesives - Bring your signs and posters to the BRIDGE before you hang them. Tape and adhesives are not to be used on hotel walls, doors, or any other surface. See the INFO DESK for more information. Sleeping in Convention Spaces - Sleeping is not allowed in public spaces like (but not limited to) hallways, stairways, elevators, video rooms, tables, restrooms. If you are found doing so, you will be asked to move. If found again, we will ask you to leave the convention. Pets - Aside from Service Animals, pets and animals are NOT allowed at AnimeIowa. Wheeled Transportation - For the Safety of all attendees, roller blades/skates, heelies, skateboards and other wheeled personal transportation items are not allowed at AnimeIowa or in the Hotel. Non-recreational items such as strollers and Wheelchairs are permitted with responsible use. General Behavior Don’t be a DINK! - Please do not intentionally disrespect your fellow attendees or do things that are inappropriate and/or dangerous. If you see someone making a dink of themselves, please report them at the AnimeIowa BRIDGE located on the 2nd oor of the Marriott. City, State and Federal Laws - If it’s a law outside the convention, it’s a law within the convention. This means NO underage drinking, NO theft, NO ghting, NO drug abuse or anything else that lands in your court. Just Say NO! Badges - You MUST have your badge to participate in convention activities. AnimeIowa reserves the right to revoke the membership of any person who breaks our house rules or acts in a manner that is unsafe or otherwise unacceptable. Weapons and Props - All weapons and large props must be brought to the WEAPONS TABLE located on Level 2 by the Bridge to be inspected and peace-marked by Convention Staff. Be respectful of other attendees, and do not allow your prop to damage hotel property. *Medical Canes/walkers are exempt. Solicitation - In order to participate in the retail sales of merchandise and services you must be registered with the Marketplace and follow all rules and procedures in the Marketplace contract. However, you can to give out free tokens of love and respect to your fellow Attendees. Panel Disruption - Panelists may ask attendees to leave if they are being disruptive to their panel. PLEASE REFRAIN from using ash photography during panels and other events. Our photography staff work hard to provide the con and you with great pictures and a sudden ash can distort an image. The use of a camera is permitted in approved locations. Costumes - All costumes must cover parts of the body which would be covered by a bathing suit. Additionally, all dress should be respectful and not contain hateful or discriminatory language, symbols or imagery. Use of the AnimeIowa logo, mascot, or name in costuming is prohibited unless written consent is obtained from the convention or its parent foundation, or if the item is purchased from the convention. Cosplay is NOT Consent! Harassment Every attendee of a Mindbridge Foundation activity has the right to be free from harassment. Harassment of anyone on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, age, gender, or physical or mental disability is prohibited by law and by the policies of this Foundation.
