Abstract: Sorbus apiculata MCALLISTER 2005 is a later homonym of Sorbus apiculata (KOVANDA ) MIKOLÁŠ . The new name Sorbus hugh- mcallisteri MIKOLÁŠ is applied for the species. The species belongs to the section Multijugae (T.T.Y U) MCALL . It is known from NW Yunnan, China. Sorbus apiculata (KOVANDA ) MIKOLÁŠ 2004 is a member of Sorbus danubialis agg. ( Sorbus subg. Aria ) with the occurrence in Bohemia, Czech Republic. Keywords: Sorbus , Sorbus apiculata , S. hugh-mcallisteri , Czech Republic, China HUGH MCALLISTER , the best specialist of the genus of Sorbus s.s., recently described 28 species in his monograph of the genus (MCALLISTER 2005). The author accepts the genus Sorbus in its strict sense (with the type species S. acucuparia L)., splitting it up into 2 subgenera: subgenus Sorbus and subgenus Albocarmesinae MCALL . The latter includes species with fruits lacking chromoplasts and with white to crimson coloration. Some species have crimson petals, the character parallel to the European subg. Chamaemespilus (MEDICUS ) K.K OCH of the genus Sorbus (or Aria (PERSOON ) HOST if we accept the narrow concept of the genus Sorbus used by MCALLISTER ). The species of the subgenus are distributed in the Sino-Himalayan floristic region. -

Muñoz Rodr. & Devesa. Se aporta una clave para la identificación de los táxones, así como su descripción morfológica e información sobre la distribución geográfica, apetencias ecológicas, fenología y número cromosómico. De Sorbus-Collectie in De Botanische Tuinen En Het Belmonte Arboretum Van De Landbouwhogeschool Te Wageningen

HENSEN DE SORBUS-COLLECTIE IN DE BOTANISCHE TUINEN EN HET BELMONTE ARBORETUM VAN DE LANDBOUWHOGESCHOOL TE WAGENINGEN IV (The Sorbits collection in the Botanical Gardens and Belmonte Arboretum of the Agricultural University at Wageningen. IV) In het 20ste Jaarboek van de Nederlandse Dendrologische Vereniging is een overzicht gegeven van de te Wageningen gekweekte Sorbus-pianten (HENSEN, 1957). Aanvullingen en wijzigingen verschenen in volgende jaarboeken (HENSEN, 1959 en 1963). Sedert de tekst van het laatste artikel geschreven werd, heeft opnieuw een aantal planten voor het eerst gebloeid en vrucht gedragen, zodat determinatie mogelijk werd. Van enige andere, reeds eerder in deze publikaties opgenomen planten werd de determinatie herzien. Deze aanvul lingen en wijzigingen van de vorige publikaties worden in dit artikel gepubliceerd. Aan gezien niet alle lezers van "Dendroflora" ook de Jaarboeken van de Nederlandse Dendrolo gische Vereniging ter beschikking zullen hebben, wordt aan het einde van dit artikel een lijst gegeven van alle taxa r), waarvan gedetermineerde planten in de Wageningense col lectie aanwezig zijn. De namen van soorten, variëteiten, apomicten of in het wild voorkomende hybriden worden gevolgd door de auteursnaam en een verwijzing naar de eerste publikatie van de naam. Deze wijziging bestaat uit de afgekorte titel, ev. het nummer van een boekdeel of jaargang van een tijdschrift, daarna de bladzijde en tenslotte het jaar van verschijnen. Namen van cultivars worden daarentegen gevolgd door de naam van de winner. Is deze niet bekend, dan laten wij de naam van de auteur volgen met een verwijzing naar de eerste publikatie van de naam. Synoniemen (cursief gedrukt) zijn slechts opgenomen, voor zover deze in botanische tuinen of in Nederlandse kwekerijen in gebruik zijn. -

In this study, pollen morphology and achene micro and macro morphology of 4 taxa belonging to Cyanus (C. depressus, C. triumfettii, C. pichleri subsp. pichleri, C. lanigerus) were investigated. The aim of the study was to determine taxonomic value of pollen and achene micro characteristic. Pollen grains of Cyanus taxa observed as isopolar, radially symmetric, with tricolporate aperture and subprolate pollen shape. Polar axis range between 36 -55.8 µm while equatorial axis between 27.8-47 µm. C. lanigerus pollen measured as biggest pollen wile C. depressus pollen is the smallest. Pollen surface ornamentation determined as scabrate. The achene shape was observed as ovoid and oblong in studied taxa. SEM results showed tha t the achene surface had a striate-psilate sculpture and was depressed on both lateral surfaces, without rare hairs. The Achene length (4-5mm), width (1.6-2.4 mm) and pappus length (1-6.4 mm) ranges differed significantly. 15 C. triumfettii achene determined as smallest (4.0 mm) in length with the smallest (1.1 mm) pappus while C. -

Introduction Within the framework of a mutual agreement between the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK; Kaslik, Jounieh, Lebanon) and the Hungarian Natural History Museum (HNHM; Budapest, Hungary) for exploring biodiversity, entomological trips were organised between 19-27 May, 2015, 16-29 of June, 2016 and 1-13 May, 2017 visiting Mount Lebanon. The first author identified a new subspecies of Cortodera while studying the Cerambycidae materials collected in these trips. Cortodera colchica Reitter, 1890 was described from “Caucasus, Araxesthal”. The type locality of the species is situated (Danilevsky, 2014: 176) in Nakhichevan Republic of Azerbaijan. Pollen grains of the subgenus Cyanus were tricolporate or syncolporate, subprolate or prolate-spheroidal, 26.15 to 53 µm in polar size, 22.84 to 46.86 µm in equatorial size, isopolar, and radially symmetrical. The only type of pollen grain ornamentation observed was scabrate-perforate. Principal component analysis and cluster analysis were performed to investigate the relationships of the studied Cyanus taxa. As a result of the phenetic analyses, the polar axis, equatorial axis, colpus length, and apocolpium were found to be significant palynomorphological characteristics for taxonomic use. Forest Vegetation of Georgia 6 Forest is the prevailing type of vegetation in Georgia. The forest area makes up 36.7 % of the country’s total land area. During the Holocene, when the climatic conditions were similar to those of nowadays, the entire territory of Georgia was occupied by forests. Very surpris- ingly, today beech (Fagus orientalis) occupies a dominating position, namely 51 % of the total forest area. The following species are further dominants of Georgian forests: Abies nordmanniana (8.5 % of the forest-coverage). Quercus iberica and other representatives of Quercus (10.5 %), Picea orientalis (6.3 %), Pinus kochiana (3.6 %), Alnus barbata (3 %), Castanea sativa (2.1 %), Betula litwinowi and other Betula species (c. 2 %). Negligible areas are covered by Carpinus caucasica, Tilia begoniifolia, Acer platanoides, A. trautvetteri, Fraxinus excelsior, etc. (Dolukhanov 2010). As it was pointed out, the plains and mountain slopes in West Georgia are covered by forests from the very sea level, while lowland woods in the eastern part of the country are peculiar for riversides. At the same time, the plateau of Javakheti Upland (South Georgia) is absolutely devoid of forests. Located in the eastern (E, SE, NE) portion of the Black Sea catchment basin the climate of the Colchis region is characterized as having moderately warm (24–25 C summers and cool 4–6 C winters) with abundant annual precipitation (1,800–2,200 mm up to 4,500 mm). Colchic forests like Hyrcan forests (Azerbaijan, Iran) are the most important relicts of the Arcto-Tertiary forests in western Eurasia with many relict and endemic plants and rare fauna. -
