Generally, science is concerned with the understanding on how and why things happen, whereas, technology deals with making things happen. The world in today’s life is surrounded with technologies. In every aspect of human lives, technology is making their work easier and in a productive way (Abroms & Phillips, 2011). Although, there are various disadvantages of these technologies but the advantages are always more. Whenever, someone hears the word technology, the first company which comes into their mind is Apple Inc. This is a firm which has brought enormous change in the world by introducing their iPhones and other i products. The company has changed the entire thought process of the humans. Apple Inc. is an American multinational technological corporation which is headquartered in Cupertino, California. The firm designs, develops and sells the consumer electronics products, computer software products and many other online services. Moreover, the hardware product of the firm includes iPhone smartphone, iPad Tablet computer, Mac personal computer, iPod portable media player, Apple smart watch, Apple TV and HomePod smart speaker. Software products include the macOS and iOS operating system, iTunes media player and many more. This firm was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne in 1976 and it was incorporated as Apple Computer, Inc. in 1977. Till then the company started flourishing in the American market (West & Mace, 2010). Presently, the company is operating worldwide and is making the revenue of US$229.234 billion. Its operating income is US$61.344 billion and net income is US$48.351 billion. FINAL PROJECT MILESTONE ONE 3 Moreover, the numbers of employees working around the globe are 123,000. The firm sells its products through its retail stores, direct sales force and online stores. Moreover, the firm also sells and delivers digital content and apps through the iTunes Store, Mac App Store, App Store, Apple Music, TV App Store, and iBook Store (Xing & Detert, 2010). The company launched its first innovation as iPhone 1 which was the first touchscreen phone and that was invented by Steve Jobs and it was launched in the year 2007. After that, every year company launched its new iPhone product with added feature into it and was named as iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and so on. Recently the firm launched its latest iPhone X which is a 10th version of iPhone series and this phone has distinctive features engraved in it. This phone marks the tenth anniversary of the device. This is a high-end, premium model and is presented as a technology of the future. This product has features of wireless charging, an OLED display, dual lens camera which has improved depth sensing and face recognition system which is called as Face ID. iOS 11.1 is the operating system of the phone and processor is Apple A11 Bionic. Moreover, this phone is the first phone to be launched in the world which gets unlocked just by detecting the face of its owner. Hence, this is again a innovative invention by the Apple Inc (Robbins & Meylan, 2010). Furthermore, this firm has been selected for the discussion is because it is the one of its kind firm which has brought astonished innovations in the world and it became possible because of its excellent internal management all around the globe. Its touch-sensitive screen includes a layer of capacitive material, just like many other touch-screens. However, the iPhone's capacitors are arranged according to a coordinate system. Its circuitry can sense changes at each point along the grid. In other words, every point on the grid generates its own signal when touched and relays that signal to the iPhone's processor. This allows the phone to determine the location and movement of simultaneous touches in multiple locations. Because of its reliance on this capacitive material, the iPhone works only if you touch it with your fingertip -- it won't work if you use a stylus or wear non-conductive gloves. A mutual capacitance touch-screen contains a grid of sensing lines and driving lines to determine where the user is touching. A self capacitance screen contains sensing circuits and electrodes to determine where a user is touching. The iPhone's screen detects touch through one of two methods: Mutual capacitance or self capacitance. In mutual capacitance, the capacitive circuitry requires two distinct layers of material. One houses driving lines, which carry current, and the other houses sensing lines, which detect the current at nodes. Self capacitance uses one layer of individual electrodes connected with capacitance-sensing circuitry. Both of these possible setups send touch data as electrical impulses.
