With a newly recorded species, P. comptipennis Enderlein, a total of six Korean aulacids are recognized: Aulacus salicius Sun and Sheng, 2007, Pristaulacus insularis Konishi, 1990, P. intermedius Uchida, 1932, P. kostylevi Alekseyev, 1986, P. jirisani Smith and Tripotin, 2011, and P. comptipennis Enderlein, 1912. A key to species of Korean Aulacidae is provided with, redescription and diagnostic characteristics of Pristaulacus comptipennis. Keywords: Aulacidae, Pristaulacus comptipennis, new record, Korea Introduction of Yeungnam University (YNU, Gyeongsan, Korea). Also, for identification of Korean Aulacidae, type materials of Family Aulacidae currently includes 244 extant species some species were borrowed from NIBR. Images were placed in two genera: Aulacus Jurine, 1807 with 76 species obtained using a stereo microscope (Zeiss Stemi SV 11 and Pristaulacus Kieffer, 1900 with 168 species. September 1997 Specimens representing 19 orders and 169 arthropod families (mostly insects) were collected from greenleaf manzanita brushfields in northeastern California and identified to species whenever possible. More than500 taxa below the family level wereinventoried, and each listing includes relative frequency of encounter, life stages collected, and dominant role in the greenleaf manzanita community. Specific host relationships are included for some predators and parasitoids. Herbivores, predators, and parasitoids comprised the majority (80 percent) of identified insects and related taxa. The taxonomy of this lineage has been the subject of several recent, intensive efforts, but the lineage lacked a robust phylogeny. In this paper we present a new phylogeny, based on increased taxonomic sampling and data from six molecular markers (mitochondrial 16S and COI, and nuclear markers 28S, RPS23, CAD, and AM2), the latter used for the first time in phylogenetic reconstruction. Our intent is to provide a robust phylogeny that will stabilize and facilitate revision of the higher-level classification. We also show the continued utility of molecular motifs, especially the presence of an intron in the RPS23 fragments of certain taxa, to diagnose evaniid clades and assist with taxonomic classification. -

AMERICAN MUSEUM NOVITATES Number 3871, 28 pp. January 27, 2017 New Evanioid Wasps from the Cenomanian of Myanmar (Hymenoptera: Othniodellithidae, Aulacidae), with a Summary of Family-Group Names among Evanioidea MICHAEL S. ENGEL1 ABSTRACT Three new evanioid wasps (Euhymenoptera: Evanioidea) are described and figured from individuals preserved in mid-Cretaceous (earliest Cenomanian) amber from northern Myan- mar. The new species represent the families Othniodellithidae and Aulacidae, both previously recorded from Burmese amber. Xenodellitha preta, new genus and species, is the second oth- niodellithid wasp and the diagnosis of the family is slightly emended in order to accommodate this species. The subfamily Hyptiogastritinae (Aulacidae) is expanded to include Protofoenus Cockerell and a third genus from Burmese amber. Archeofoenus tartaricus, new genus and spe- cies, is the third known species of the extinct aulacid subfamily Hyptiogastritinae, differing from Hyptiogastrites electrinus Cockerell in the low position of the discal cell and the open subdiscal cell in the forewing, and from Protofoenus swinhoei Cockerell in the form of the head and mandible, coloration, and forewing venational details. Together, Archeofoenus and Proto- foenus are placed in Archeofoenini, new tribe. The last species is similar to the genus Electro- foenus Cockerell, and together they are classified in Electrofoenini among the Aulacidae. Electrofoenops diminuta, new genus and species, is distinguished from Electrofoenus on the basis of wing venation.
