Activities- 3 domains Prevention of communicable diseases- Health awareness-water and mosquitoes Motivation health talks by doctors Helped them to built 42 toilets and village free from open defecation Identifying non communicable disease House hold survey done, 3 medical camps conducted and referral to PHC and Govt hospitals. KMC doctors – pledged to free consultation villagers in private hospitals 3. Road Safety programme-Road Safety song produced by KMC alumni and released by commissioner of police Chennai KMC Chennai Alumni Association -Annual report 2017-18 Annual Meet The annual alumni meet brings to our alumni a chance to reconnect with their alma ma- ter. This meet will be called Vizhudhugal – as a metaphor to denote that they are rootlets of this prestigious institution and also to show their love towards the banyan tree that stands right in the heart of the KMC .Alumni hosted the annual alumni meet at its cam- pus on 30th July with approximately 325 alumni in attendance along with students of current batches. The meet was designed to be a common platform where KMC alumni (with families) from all over the world will be able to get together to network and ex- plore how Alumni Association can be more vibrant, relevant and useful for the KMC alumni and the nation. The meet has, more of interactions and entertainment of alumni and shall be an experience to remember for the alumni and their families KMC Chennai Alumni Association -Annual report 2017-18 .

    Health care Waste Management System E960 Public Disclosure Authorized TNHSDP Public Disclosure Authorized Health Care Waste Management System Public Disclosure Authorized Public Disclosure Authorized Health care Waste Management System Health Care Waste Management System The Government of Tamil Nadu has proposed to implement a Health Systems Development Project (HSDP) with the World Bank assistance. The main objective of the HSDP is to improve the health outcomes of the people of Tamil Nadu with special reference to poor especially in remote and inaccessible areas. The project objectives are in keeping with the Millennium Development Goals. The HSDP envisages a substantial improvement in health infrastructure at the secondary level institutions. Several interventions have been planned for reducing infant, child and maternal mortality and morbidity. The project would also develop effective models to combat non communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension, cardio vascular diseases, cancer etc. HSDP also plans to develop a comprehensive Health Management Information System in addition to capacity building of the health functionaries. The project would attempt to initiate bring a fruitful Public Private Partnership in health sector. The Govt. of Tamil Nadu has analysed the present scenario of bio medical waste management right from tertiary institutions to the PHCs. The Bio Medical waste management in private sector has also been analysed. The bio medical waste generated by the health institutions both in public and private sector needs to be regulated under the Bio-Medical Waste (Management and Handling) (Second Amendment) Rules 2000, Ministry of Environment and Forest, Govt. of India Notification New Delhi. Under the health care waste management plan Govt.

P Associate Professor of Thoracic Medicine, Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai OBJECTIVE: purpose of this study is to find the cause, management and outcome of patients presenting with pneumothorax in a thoracic medicine department METHODS: pneumothorax patients coming to treatment at thoracic medicine department at kilpauk medical college and GTHTM, otteri, Chennai during the period November 2019 to June 2021 were recruited and managed with appropriate intervention and outcome recorded. Patients of age above 12years were included. RESULTS: Total of 54 pneumothorax patients were evaluated for this study. The commonest management was intercostal drainage tube. The commonest cause and pulmonary tuberculosis. other causes include primary spontaneous tuberculosis, COPD, interstial lung disease and necrotising bacterial pneumonia. CONCLUSION: this study concludes that pulmonary tuberculosis and its related condition is the commonest cause of tuberculosis and intercostal drainage is commonest intervention for it in thoracic medicine department Keywords: pneumothorax, pulmonary tuberculosis, COPD, intercostal drainage, pleurodesis. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
