We report on the front page of this issue that the Alpha Pi Lambda fraternity is being recognized by the University again, seven months after losing that recognition. At the end of June 1993, the University revoked its recognition of the fraternity after a history of problems and violations, including allegations of rape, violation of a 1992 probation and what Vice Provost of Student Life Diana Hackney described as “continued violation of University policy by members of the chapter.” Since then, the fraternity has held meetings to construct a plan to meet the University-specified requirements for reinstatement.
