It was advertised as The Band’s “farewell concert appearance” with more than a dozen special guests, including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, Ringo Starr, Ronnie Hawkins, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, Neil Diamond, The Staple Singers, and Eric Clapton. The film, directed by Martin Scorsese, features concert performances, intermittent song renditions shot on a studio soundstage, and interviews with members of The Band. < Richard Manuel, Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Levon Helm and Garth Hudson of The Band.
