Editor’s note: Irene Jorgensen was a life-time “Music is the best there is, music has always been member of UOTF. Sherry Adderly provides this something for me.” -Irene Jorgensen fitting tribute to a woman who contributed so much to our organization.

Irene was the one person I remember most when I first joined the fiddlers in 1984.

She had been a member since about 1978 or so. Her beautiful smile told me, hey we are going to have fun!! She said when I walked in “Oh, another fiddle!” Irene loved fiddle music.

We would jam at her home for hours. She was always such a gracious hostess with home made cookies and all kinds of goodies. I always felt at home there. She was a very good guitar player with excellent rhythm. I can’t count the many jam sessions, gigs and contests we have played at over the years.
