17th Duty Meet – 2019is organized at State Reserve Police Force, Group I and Group II and MIA from 25/11/2019 to 30/11/2019by Crime Investigation Department, State of Maharashtra, Pune.

In said duty meetfollowing events are conducted- 1) Scientific Aid to Investigation 2) Police photography 3) Police videography 4) Anti-Sabotage Check Competition 5) Computer awareness competition 6) Dog Squad Competition

The medal winnerswill be selected for the upcoming 63rd All Police Duty Meet from the said competition. Since 1953, the All India Police Duty Meet, organized by the Intelligence Bureau (IB), New Delhi, is organized annually from 1953, to test the professionalism and professional quality of the police officers and staff. In this competition, all the police forces of the states of the country as well as the central police unions, send their teams, show their professionalism in the performance of duty and seek rewards. In the All India Police Duty Meet, the performance of the Maharashtra Police Force has progressed steadily. Last year, overall 27 state /UT’s teams from all over the country participated in the 62nd All India Police Duty Meet at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. A total of 40 contestants participated in this competition on behalf of the Maharashtra State Police Force team. The Maharashtra State Police Force team for the first time has achieved a historic championship trophy in the country and has done historic work for the Maharashtra Police Force. Similarly, in the competition of Scientific Aid to Investigation, the runners-up trophy of Hard Liner Trophy and Police Videography has been a huge achievement in this competition. In that AIPDM, the team of Maharashtra State Police Force has won 12 medals - 5 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze. Even in the 61st All-India Police Duty Meet whichwas held in Chennai in February 2018. In the said competition, the team of Maharashtra Police Force has done well, winning 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. The 17th Maharashtra State Police Duty meet 2019 overall 9 police ranges, 10 Commissionerates, Crime Investigation Department, State Reserve Police Force, Wireless Message Department, Maharashtra Intelligence Academy, Anti-Terrorism Squad, Force-I, , State Intelligence Department have participated.overall387 officers and staff from these 25 teams are participating in present competition. 17th Maharashtra State Police Duty Meet-2019 has commenced from 25/11/2019 at SRPF Group No.I and Group No. II, Ramtekdi, Pune. Out of 6 events in ‘Scientific Aid to Investigation’ competition of ‘Lifting, Packing & Labeling’ and ‘Computer Awareness’ written test events were conducted today.

These events are useful for detection of crime by use of latest scientific methods and technology and in developing police skills for detection of crime.

Important clues are left by the accused at the scene of crime. ‘Scientific Aid to Investigation’ event is about scientifically collecting such evidence for the purpose of conviction. This evidence may be of physical and biological nature such as blood, hair, nailand needs to be collected and packed skillfully for obtaining expert opinion from Forensic Science Laboratory alongwith answers to questioners.In the present digital era ‘Computer Awareness’ event is conducted for testing knowledge of computer and ability to check digital evidence.

Although evidence is scientifically collected it requires knowledge of Law, hence competitors’ knowledge of law is also tested in this event.

In the event of ‘Lifting, Packing &Labeling’ conducted today tough competition was seen and CID could not maintain its dominance over the past three years. Mumbai City with 33 marks stood first in the competition whereas ATS with 32.5 marks and Pune City with 32 marks stood second and third.

In the Law test of ‘Scientific Aid to Investigation’ Kokan Range secured Gold medal, Navi Mumbai Silver Medal and Kolhapur Range Bronze Medal.

Wireless Unit proved its dominance in the event of ‘Computer Awareness’ by obtaining 63 marks and securing first position. Nasik and Thane City secured second and third positions respectively. Nanded Range had to remain contended at the fourth position with very nominal difference in the marks. There was a tough competition for the third position between Thane and Nanded.

Inauguration Ceremony is on 27th November 2019 at 16.30 hrs at the auspicious hands of Dr.K. Venkatesham, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Pune City.

Closing Ceremony is on 30th November, 2019 at 16.30 hrs. at the auspicious hands of Shri. S.K Jaiswal, IPS, Director General of Police, Maharashtra State, Mumbai.
