LINDNER BIOGRAPIDCAL INFORMATION Carl H. Lindner, along with his father, brothers Bob and Dick, and sister Dorothy, founded United Dairy Farmers in 1940 as a single storefront selling dairy products. The family's first day sales amounted to $8.28. Today, Mr. Lindner is Cha.irman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, Founder and principal shareholder of American Financial Corporntion. American Financial Corporation is a diversified financial holding company with approximately $13 billion in assets and is principally engaged in property/casualty and life insurance. Mr. Lindner also has a major interest and is the largest shareholder of The Provident Bank. In addition to being a member of the Boards of Directors of the various subsidiaries of American Financial Corporation, Mr. Lindner is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Chiquita Brands International, . and American.· ~remier Underwriters. Mr. Lindner's activities include memberships in the Alfalfa Club of Washington DC; the National Republican Senatorial Trust; the Republican Eagles; the Board of Advisors to the College of Business Administration of the University of Cincinnati; the Commercial Club; the Board of Trustees of the Cincinnati Fine Arts Institute; the Board of Overseers of the Cincinnati Symphony, and the Citizens for a Better Cincinnati. He has also served for a number of years as Finance Chairman of the Kenwood Baptist Church and on the Board of Directors of the Drake Planetarium. Carl also served on the Founding Board of Directors for the Kennedy Center and has long been a supporter of the Ford Theater. Mr. Lindner was awarded the Golden Plate Award by the American Academy of Achievement in 1978. He is presently a 33rd degree Mason and a recipient of the Van Rensselaer Medal. Only 12 people world wide have been awarded this prestigious award. The Hebrew Union College awarded Mr. Lindner the Jewish Institute of Religion Interfaith Award in October, 1989. Mr. Lindner was named Man of the Year of the United Jewish Appeal in 1978 and an Honoree in 1984, and was an honoree of the National Jewish Hospital in 1980. Mr. Lindner is the largest non-Jewish contributor to Jewish causes in the United States. In 1992, Mr. Lindner was inducted into the Greater Cincinnati Business Hall of Fame by the Junior Achievement of Greater Cincinnati in cooperation with the Cincinnati Historical Society. The Great Living Cincinnatian award was presented to Mr. Lindner in Feburary, 1994 and in May of 1994 he will be presented an award by the National Association of Christians and Jews. Mr. Lindner received an honorary Doctorate from Judson College in 1983, the honorary degree of Doctor of Commercial Science from the University of Cincinnati in June of 1985, and the honorary degree of Doctor of Humanities from Xavier University in May of 1991. Tue College of Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati is housed in Carl H. Lindner Hall and in 1985 the school established the Carl H. Lindner Annual Medal for Outstanding Business Achievement in his honor. In 1991, Xavier University dedicated the Carl H. Lindner Family Physics Building which completed their Science Center. Mr. Lindner was the recipient of the Lincoln Award presented by Northern Kentucky University in April, 1993. Carl and Edyth Lindner are also the major benefactors of Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, a school founded by their son, Carl Lindner III. The Cincinnati Zoo is proud of their new Carl H. Lindner Jr. Family Center for Reproduction of Endangered Wildlife, as is the Museum Center with its new Carl and Edyth Lindner Ice Age Exhibit, Sawyer Point with it.s Carl Lindner Family Tennis Pavilion and the City of Norwood with Lindner Park. Mr. J ,indner and his wife Edyth have three sons who work together daily as partners in their various business interests. He has been a member of the Baptist Church for most of his life.     Carl H. Lindner, Jr. - Cincinnati Business Titan Passes Away at Age 92 October 18, 2011 12:10 PM ET CINCINNATI, Oct 18, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Carl Henry Lindner, Jr., innovative, self-made builder of businesses that employ thousands, generous philanthropist, loving husband, father and devout Christian, passed away yesterday, at the age of 92, from causes incident to age. He was surrounded by his wife, sons and other family members. At the time of his death, he was Chairman of the Board of American Financial Group, Inc., a major financial services company he founded in 1959. He was one of the most successful corporate financiers in the nation. Mr. Lindner was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1919, and the family moved to Cincinnati in 1930 when he was 11 years old. He developed industrious habits and a devotion to his community at a young age. Mr. Lindner dropped out of school at age 15, at the bottom of the Depression, and began working countless hours a day, delivering milk door-to-door while attending high school classes at night. In 1940, he opened an ice cream shop with his father, brothers and sister. Working with his family, he transformed the milk delivery business into what is now known as United Dairy Farmers, originally a milk and dairy store which launched Mr. Lindner's career as a self-made businessman and entrepreneur. Over the course of his distinguished business and investment career, Mr. Lindner held controlling interests in such notable organizations as Great American Insurance Group, General Cable Corporation, The Penn Central Corporation, Hanna-Barbera Productions, Kings Island Company, the former Taft Broadcasting Company, The Cincinnati Enquirer, The Cincinnati Reds, Chiquita Brands International Inc., and The Provident Bank.

Among his endeavors, he was a selfless philanthropist and a successful entrepreneur, helping to expand his family's dairy business into the ice cream and convenience store chain that is known today as United Dairy Farmers.     FOOT TRAFFIC REPORT & DRIVING TRENDS for the fuel & convenience store industry 2017 YEAR IN REVIEW & 2018 FORECAST 2017 YEAR IN REVIEW & 2018 FORECAST GasBuddy and Cuebiq examined 121 million consumer trips to convenience and fuel retailers in 2017—with 35 million visits taking place between October 1 and December 31. This data provides insights into consumer behavior that will continue to be relevant throughout 2018. Highlights: Ricker’s Captures the Top Spot in 2017 The Indiana-based retailer edges out the competition for the highest ratio of footfall per station in 2017—nearly five times the industry average. Costco claims second place after capturing the top spot in Q4, and Meijer comes in a close third. Good Forecourt Lighting is Good for Business Throughout 2017, there was a strong correlation between overnight foot traffic and the quality of forecourt lighting. Stations near interstates with above-average outdoor lighting ratings on GasBuddy saw a 50% increase in foot traffic, during the hours of 9:00pm to 5:00am, when compared to those with below-average ratings. Visits were up in Q4 From Q3 to Q4 2017, visits to gas stations and convenience stores saw an uplift of 5.15%. Busiest Time of the Day An analysis of location data reveals that Friday at 12:00pm saw the highest average levels of foot traffic in 2017. Lunch hours were the busiest during the work week, and the morning commute was comparatively slower. GasBuddies Go Beyond the Pump McDonald’s narrowly edged out Subway to become GasBuddies' favorite quick-service restaurant of 2017, and Starbucks took the title over Dunkin' Donuts in the coffee shop category.

Thousands of individuals and families attended the free event featuring games and entertainment, arts and crafts, food and beverages, sports activities, and live music throughout the day. Talbert House thanks the many volunteers and generous sponsors, including Performance Lexus and Midland Atlantic Properties, who made this event possible and a great success. Food and beverages were supplied by Borden Dairy, Cincinnati Vending, Home City Ice, Kroger, LaRosa’s, Performance Food Service - Ellenbee, Skyline Chili, Sunny Delight, and United Dairy Farmers. The Home Depot provided crafts for children, and Shining Star AAU offered one-on-one basketball time with Dad. Music was performed by BACKDoor, The Black Ties, and Deuces Musik. Great American’s history continues, as it embraces the exciting challenges of the 21st century, carrying forward a proud tradition of strength with integrity. When the German American Insurance Company was formed in 1872, it was the desire of its immigrant founders to create an insurance company of such financial stability that it might enjoy the unqualified confidence of the insuring public and its shareholders. In New York City, William F. Heins came up with the idea to begin an insurance company with a solid- sounding $1 million in capital. By early March, 1872, directors convened the first board meeting of the German American Insurance Company. The first policy was issued on March 19, 1872, insuring a factory that manufactured hard rubber combs. The company symbol was an eagle. The history of our company began in 1872 when we wrote our first fire insurance policy as “German American Insurance Company” in New York City. Named in honor of the homeland of founder William Heins, German American leased space for its branch offices on Broadway, Liberty and John Streets in lower Manhattan. By 1877, German American had over 1,000 agents throughout the country and was one of the most financially stable companies in America. The company was well-regarded as an insurer actually willing to pay claims. When the Baltimore fire struck in 1904, German American paid out $550,000 in claims from its assets of $14 million.

This acquisition makes it an instant player in the fixed indexed annuity business. Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company has agreed to buy Great American Life Insurance Company, a leading issuer of fixed and fixed indexed annuities, from American Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE:AFG), a company controlled by the billionaire Lindner family of Cincinnati. The purchase price is $3.5 billion, subject to adjustment at closing, according to a news release. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021, subject to regulatory and other necessary approvals. Great American Life will operate as an independent subsidiary of MassMutual. MassMutual was the US sales leader in fixed-rate deferred annuities through the first nine months of 2020, with $5.18 billion in sales. This acquisition makes it an instant player in the fixed indexed annuity business as well.
