PEDAGOGICAL INNOVATION & AWARDS • For Spring 2015, selected to teach a Georgia State University Honors College course on Terrorist Motivations through a competitive application process. • For Fall 2009 & Spring 2011, Collaborative online international course on the psychology of terrorism that links students from the U.S. and Ireland in collaboration with James Fitzgerald, of Dublin City University. The initial collaboration was intended to link students from Iran with students at Purchase College (with Abdolhossein Abdollahi of the Islamic Azad University, Zarand Branch in Kerman, Iran). Following the elections of Summer, 2009 the collaboration with Iranian students and colleagues has been postponed. This initiative was initially supported by a grant to Purchase College from the National Endowment for the Humanities (P.I. Jon Rubin), and has subsequently been supported by Dublin City University. • Pioneered Use of ‘Clickers’ and audience response systems at Purchase College starting in 2005. This resulted in Turning Technologies being selected at Purchase College. • Using Google Earth to create video for in-class use to ‘transport’ students to geographic locations being covered in class. Access to this feature required writing a special proposal to Google to have full access to the program and related technical resources for video conversion and embedding.
