Starting in early 2006, Anderson had the book of Gomez throughout the pinnacle of his riding success, as the Tucson native reeled off a streak of four consecutive years atop the nationwide earnings list and earned Eclipse Outstanding Jockey awards in 2007 and 2008. NAME OF THE DAY (GEOGRAPHY EDITION) Coaching Club American Oaks favorite Monomoy Girl takes her name from the 8-mile long island (or two islands depending on storms, tides and so on) southwest of Chatham just off Cape Cod. The island was an inhabited fishing village as early as 1710, but is now a federal wildlife refuge for seals, birds and other animals. Offshore, Atlantic Great White Sharks are frequent- ly seen. There are no human residents, no electricity, no paved roads and Tod Marks – we’ll assume – no horses.
