IDEAMA (Internationales Digitales Elektro Akustisches Musik Archiv) Collection consisting of over 950 canonical electroacoustic works from 1930 to 1970. RIND is a work using three large self-built cow skin frame drums, 1 horse skin container drum, metal plates and electronics. NOL is a composition by Alex Buess for a percussion trio from 1995. The two pieces were recorded live in 2010 and 2003 respectively, also featuring the musicians Daniel Stalder, Peter Conradin Zumthor and Matthias Würsch. They were electronically treated by Cortex in the studion in 2015. This release continues the col - laboration with Alex Buess that goes back to the pre-Praxis days of the Vision label since 1987 and includes Praxis 31 by 16-17 and Praxis 48 by Cortex , both of which also included Daniel Buess. He first tried his hand as a singer and musician at the age of 13 before forming his band The Monsters in 1986 and setting up his own record label Voodoo Rhythm Records in 1992. With The Monsters, Zeller created an entirely new genre that fuses psychobilly with garage punk and went on to showcase it with more than a thousand concerts in South America, Japan, Australia, the US and the rest of the world. His stage presence as frontman of The Monsters has captivated audiences in smaller clubs and large venues alike. Zeller attained cult status thanks in no small part to this work with Voodoo Rhythm Records, which has gained him a reputation as a resolute champion of innova- tive and experimental artists. Oba dyplomy otrzymał Akademia Muzyczna w Krakowie z wyróżnieniem. Występuje jako solista i muzyk Bunkier Sztuki sekcyjny grający z różnymi zespołami, reprezentującymi szeroki repertuar od nowej muzyki opartej na pełnym zapisie nutowym, do eksperymentalnej improwizacji, rocka i free music. Festiwal Audio Art’06 Wśród tych zespołów można wymienić: Ensemble Phoenix-Basel, w którym jest jednym z czołowych członków i solistą perkusji od założenia zespołu w 1998 roku, CORTEX, HOW2, B&B, MIR, 16-17, Ensemble Piano & Percussion Stuttgart, Katarakt oraz Ensemble für neue musik Zürich. Pracował X-Quartett z najważniejszymi kompozytorami i muzykami, reprezentującymi rozmaite gatunki współczesnej (Bazylea/Basel) muzyki eksperymentalnej, m.in. Alexem Buessem, Vinko Globokarem, Pierrem Boulez, Michaelem Wertmüllerem, Julio Estradą, Volkerem Heynem, Iancu Dumitrescu i Timem Hodgkinsonem.     AGGREGAT a kinetic multichannel sound installation The project 'Aggregat' is a kinetic audio-installation that contains works by a group of artists all active within the con- text of the ICST, the Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology of the Zurich University of the Arts. The central aspects explored by the works is the notion of sound and movement in body-object relationships and con- crete materiality. The sound-works in the aggregate installation cover thematic approaches such as 'choreography' of sound and move- ment, social and group behaviours, synchronisation of media and senses, spatiality in a real space, and figure-ground relationships between physical and sound movement. The micro-society represented by the speaker aggregate reflects the multi-perspective nature of the artist group engaged in this joint installation. An important specificity of the collection of works present in the installation lies in the overlap of disciplines, methods, points of view and artistic domains. A common concern in the artistic practices of all participants are topics of systemic development, behavioural modelling, and algorithm-driven generative compositions. This multi-perspective 'aggregate' represents a blend of systematic approaches using formalised technical processes with poetic potentials developed through and expressed by the corporeality of the speaker-figures and in particular through the dialogue within the gallery space between audience members and the speaker chorus. Each artist's work is intimately linked with their research activities at ICST, and can be situated at the intersections between the empirical, objective approaches of research and experiential and singular processes of artistic work, thus delineating the intersection of art and science.

Gyatso is the only pure studio album recorded by the original 16-17 line-up of Alex Buess, Markus Kneubühler and Knut Remond and besides Martin also features G.Green from Godflesh as a guest musician. Praxis is teaming up with Skin & Speech, Alex Buess’s label, to bring forth the first ever vinyl release of this crucial album and releases a 6-track LP edition with all the other tracks (there are 13 in total) available as a download. 16-17 started in 1983 in Basel, Switzerland. They released a number of cassettes, before debuting with their self titled and self released album in 1987. Two years later this was followed up by When All Else Fails , an LP of treated live record - ings on Vision, the precursor label to Praxis. By this time 16-17 had already garnered a cult following with their incredibly forceful live performances. Gyatso is a crucial release where the raw power of 16-17’s live appearances clashes with a studio-as-instrument approach, as Kevin Martin and Alex Buess add effects and dub techniques to the band’s recordings.

We are happy to announce a new Release from A Tree in a Field Records: File under experimental, neue musik Werktag/Chessex/Buess WERKTAG/CHESSEX/BUESS takes its roots in the Zurich based trio WERKTAG, initiated in 2012, and to which Alex Buess and Antoine Chessex are now both bringing their own contribution. WERKTAG evolves in the tension field between written, experimental and improvised music and tends to have a weakness for the combination of acoustic instruments and live multi-track electronic music. As a result, the volume is sometimes pretty loud ; something Alex Buess and Antoine Chessex feel more than comfortable with. Belonging to two different generations of swiss musicians, they both find each other at the border of contemporary Cat N° TREE056 music, noise, hardcore, and free improvisation.
