That said, he can be taken on with last year's winner of this race, FASCINATING ROCK, who looks to be underestimated by the market at prices of around 5/1. The five-year-old son of Fastnet Rock has taken on Found three times and he has come out on top twice, with the only reversal happening when he needed the run and Found was race fit. On a line through the daughter of Galileo, Almanzor has a bit to find with Fascinating Rock and so it is even harder to see why there should be such a large price discrepancy between the pair. The aforementioned Found has to be respected following her Arc win but we know she is far from unbeatable in Group 1 events and she may be booked for a place once again today. • Enable Electric in King George Cont
SUNDAY, 30 JULY, 2017 The King George took on an entirely different shape as the ENABLE ELECTRIC heavy rain fell on already-deadened ground. Despite the Epsom Oaks being staged in a thunderstorm, the latest Juddmonte IN KING GEORGE sensation had it slick there as she readily turned back Rhododendron (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) on June 2 and it was even quicker as she completed the double in the Irish equivalent two weeks prior to this. Tactics were certain to play a significant part here, with her potentially tricky draw in seven leaving her vulnerable to early scrimmaging, but Frankie was happy to let her bounce out and put her head in front until Maverick Wave crossed over to provide the lead. With Highland Reel (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) for company as they ignored the pacemaker, Enable settled perfectly and had stablemate Jack Hobbs (GB) (Halling) behind along with Idaho as Ulysses travelled with his customary ease and Jim Crowley tracked their every move. Before the turn for home Highland Reel was the first to struggle, and as he laboured and Ulysses nipped up his inner Enable dominates a rain-soaked King George | Racing Post Idaho lost vital momentum, but Enable moved forward with Jack Hobbs and for a brief period a Gosden one-two was likely. Trained by the father and son team of Carlos and Yann Lerner in Maisons-Laffitte, this three-year-old colt has won once and been by Haras du Mezeray on behalf of Shadwell France, Lot 224 placed four times from six starts to date. The average price set a new record in the sale's four-year history at i39,897, up 17%. The depth of the buying bench resulted in 30 horses selling for i50,000 or more against only 14 a year ago, which in turn pushed the median price up 13% from i30,000 to i34,000. The clearance rate remained the same at 75%. At the conclusion of the sale, Arqana president Eric Hoyeau commented, "It is an extremely pleasing renewal of the V.2 Yearling Sale, which has now fully asserted its ability to produce two-year-old winners at a high level.
