NEWS RELEASE R&B Legend Natalie Cole Joins Rock Legend Gregg Allman, Merck and The American Liver Foundation to Turn Up the Volume Around Hep C 7/26/2011 Cole to Perform with The Allman Brothers Band at the Tune In to Hep C Benet Concert Tomorrow on the Eve of World Hepatitis Day Merck (NYSE: MRK) (known as MSD outside the United States and Canada) today announced that GRAMMY® winner Natalie Cole is adding her voice to the company's public health campaign, Tune In to Hep C, with the American Liver Foundation (ALF) and rock legend Gregg Allman. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness of chronic hepatitis C virus infection. Cole will join Allman onstage at a benet concert featuring The Allman Brothers Band and other special guests in New York tomorrow, July 27, the eve of World Hepatitis Day. This cause is personal to Cole, who was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis C during a routine blood test in 2008. It was then that she realized she'd been living with the virus for more than 25 years - nearly half of her life. Cole's experience is not uncommon. In fact, chronic hepatitis C is often referred to as the silent disease because – for many people – it can be in the body for decades without any symptoms. Cole is joining the campaign to encourage others with chronic hepatitis C to put aside fear and stigma and take action. "One thing is for sure – there's a stigma surrounding hepatitis C because it's associated with IV drug use.

He was widely noted for his soft, baritone voice, which he used to perform in big band and jazz genres and which he used to become a major force in popular music for 3 decades producing many hit songs for Cole. Cole was one of the first African Americans to host a national television variety show, The Nat King Cole Show, and has maintained worldwide popularity since his death from lung cancer in February 1965. Early life Nathaniel Adams Coles was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on March 17, 1919. Cole had three brothers: Eddie, Ike, and Freddy, and a half-sister, Joyce Coles. Ike and Freddy would later pursue careers in music as well. When Cole was four years old, he and his family moved to Chicago, Illinois, where his father, Edward Coles, became a Baptist minister. Cole learned to play the organ from his mother, Perlina Coles, the church organist. His first performance was of "Yes! We Have No Bananas" at age four. He began formal lessons at 12, eventually learning not only jazz and gospel music, but also Western classical music, performing, as he said, "from Johann Sebastian Bach to Sergei Rachmaninoff".

  • Cowling Band Songlist
west coast music Cowling Band Please find the attached Cowling Band song list for your review. SPECIAL DANCES for Weddings: Please note that we will need to have your special dance requests, (I.E. First Dance, F/D Dance, etc) FOUR WEEKS in advance prior to your event so that we can confirm the band will be able to perform the songs and will be able to locate sheet music and audio samples of the songs. If some cases where sheet music is not available or an arrangement for the full band is needed, this gives us time to properly prepare the music. Clients are not obligated to send in a list of general song requests. Many of our clients ask that the band just react to whatever their guests are responding to on the dance floor. Our clients that do provide us with song requests do so in varying degrees. Most clients give us a handful of songs they want played and avoided. If you desire the highest degree of control (allowing the band to only play within the margin of songs requested), then we would ask for a minimum 80 requests from the band’s songlist. Please feel free to call us at the office should you have any questions. – West Coast Music DANCE SONGS: 24K Magic .........................................
