We hold the names of all members, the tower and Branch they are affiliated to (or “unattached” if appropriate), their class of membership (Ringing Member, Honorary Life Member, Non-Resident Life Member), and whether they are entitled to a discount on their subscription according to the rules of the Branch (for example, they may be entitled to reduced membership as a Junior). The data is provided by the member, or the person nominating them for membership, at the time they are proposed for membership, and is held by the Branch Treasurers in electronic and paper format. A copy of the list for each tower is sent to the Tower Correspondents annually, and they are asked to confirm that the data is still accurate, or to make changes as necessary. Under the General Data Protection Regulations, and Data Protection Act 2018, the lawful basis we rely on for processing this data is the Legitimate Interest of the Association, to determine eligibility of people to stand for Office, to vote at General Meetings, and to ring Peals for the Association.
