“Witchy Woman” Janna Moll’s presentation on Networking Zoom Meeting May 27, 2020

Witchcraft has been around as long as indigenous cultures and each have had practices to heal, honor life, and manifest outcomes. An early name for these practitioners is ‘Shaman’. Their practices have in more recent times been considered a tradition of ‘’. This results from intentional use of ceremony, , and the casting of spells in witchcraft.

The practice of magic with an affinity to nature usually occurs within a pagan tradition. Origins are believed to have been sorcerers in the ancient near East and Nile Valley before the advent of Christianity. Druids identified as Christians in the 18th century. Modern Druidry are pagans from the learned class of the Celts. Celtic religion is polytheistic (believing in many deities). Pagans are deeply aware of the natural world and see the divine in the ongoing cycle of life and death. They are eco-friendly. (considered a religion) is different from other forms of contemporary paganism, though they share influences. Wicca arose in the early 20th century and was taught and practiced through secret . Most Wiccan groups are duotheistic believing in the of fertility (male) and the (female). Wicca is known as the religion of ‘witches’, a practice that celebrates the glory of nature. It is difficult to say whether Wicca is a new religion or an old one.

Guiding Principles The Three-Fold Law or the Law of Return is the belief that what you put out into the world, both in action as well as your presence, comes back to you three-fold. A personal code in witchcraft is, “Do what you will and do no harm.” Wicca is a way of life and a belief system where the highest priorities are personal integrity and respect for Mother Nature.

Holidays Holidays in Wicca are identified as days of power for creating spells and performing rituals. These are either Sabbats (seasonal days based upon the sun’s position) or (cycles of the moon).

Spell Work Casting a Circle Casting a Circle creates the safe, sacred and protected space within which all work usually takes place. Before casting a circle, sweep (can be symbolic) the space to purify it. You can sprinkle the area with saltwater as well. Use an Athame (blade) to draw the circle in a clockwise direction on the ground or in the air. A wand may also be used, usually if it is drawn in the air. You may also use your hand! Tap into the sacred and nature energy around you and use this to raise the vibration of the circle.

Intention Attuning your subconscious mind to your desired outcome sets intention for the work you are going to do. Magic is about empowerment and casting a circle also concentrates your intention within your actions.

Honor the Directions East focus: grounds your energy. Move clockwise, visualizing the entire boundary (circle). The circle also extends above and below you. Let the take over and feel the sacred space around you. Feel the Divine nature of the space. Stay within the established boundary or the circle is broken. Once the circle is cast you may call upon deities, spirits or elementals to assist you, gaze into a mirror or crystal ball to gather intended information, create a spell or charm, or honor the Goddess/Nature and/or yourself.

From Witchy Woman Janna Moll Energy Medicine Networking Meeting May 27, 2020 4 www.EnergyMedicineSpecialists.com Spells to Keep at all Times “I respect myself” – the most powerful that will change your whole life if you believe it when you say it. “My heart is too valuable for you” – the spell that will set you free from any destructive soul. “I believe in you” – the best gift you can ever give anyone else. “NO” – a single, commanding, two-letter spell with the ability to liberate you if only you learn to use it unapologetically and cast it without fear. [See below.] (From Fierce Fairytales – Gill)

Super Simple Spells for Protection Freezer: Place the name of someone from whom you are needing removal from your circle of influence on a piece of paper. Place the paper in a Ziplock bag and fill it with water. Place it in the freezer to ‘freeze’ the person out of your life. This stays in the freezer longer than you imagine and can stay there forever. If you would like to remove/end the spell at some point, take the bag and empty the contents into a body of water (lake/river) and throw away the bag. You may also bury it away from your home or workplace. [Think ‘ugly into beauty’ and pick a spot for the release that is in harmony and full of beauty.] Bury: Take some item of the person’s (name on a paper, hair, object) and bury it away from where you live or work. [See note above.] No: Saying the word, “NO!” emphatically is an excellent spell.

Simple Charm for Keeping Finely powder the seeds in a pestle and mortar while keeping your intent in mind. Sprinkle a little of this powder over things you wish to keep safe from being stolen, such as your car, bag, and so on. 3 tsp. Caraway seeds 3 tsp. Cumin seeds

Simple Spells for Love Friday Night: Light a pink or red candle. With a favorite pen and a white piece of paper write your first name and your lover’s last name. Draw a circle around them and close your eyes and meditate on what you want. Repeat three times: “Our fate is sealed. We are one. So mote it be. It is done!” Love Self First: Make a date with yourself, love yourself, set your standards high.

From Witchy Woman Janna Moll Energy Medicine Networking Meeting May 27, 2020 5 www.EnergyMedicineSpecialists.com Be in Love with Love: Practice being exciting. Use extra eye contact. Laugh more. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Dress in a loving way. Treat yourself with kindness and respect (no matter what). Take time for self-reflection. Friday Spell of Attraction: Write your name on red candle and ‘my beloved’ on another red candle. Each evening at 7 PM light the candles and burn for several minutes concentrating on different qualities of your desired partner each night. During the week gradually move the candles slightly closer each night. On the last (7th) night the candles should be as close together as possible. Burn them down and out. If wax remains, release it in nature as described above.

Gardens My mom was a gardener that created abundant produce and natural beauty with an amazing ability to coax the smallest seed, or most discarded space to grow beauty in the world. This year I work reworked my entire backyard to represent beauty ease and a varied growing and blooming season. I've listed them here, herbs, flowers and veggies in my yard and all but two of them are in my backyard sanctuary. Lavender is by my front door for love protection purification and happiness and spearmint is by my front door, next to the pond, for love, luck, safe travel and protection. So, just as a sample, here's the list of what's in my yard. You don't have to read it you can just see how long that list is.

About Me As a practitioner of energy medicine, I find that adding the rituals and spells of wicca enhance my full presence and intention – especially the conscious intent to work with high frequency spirits in a client session. It intensifies my awareness of working with ancient sacred acts (like Casting a Circle around my table at the beginning of a client session), combined with Divine Nature (use of oils, herbs and colored candles) for even greater outcomes. The simple (and powerful!) spells and charms are excellent ‘helps’ for clients when they are interested. Like technique homework is for the energy body or mind, these acts are empowering for clients and offer ways to ‘teach’ proper preparation of self and intention to bring about desired outcomes during self care and healing work. Because they are designed to work with other forces (days of the week, or seasons), they are grounded in the natural as well.

From Witchy Woman Janna Moll Energy Medicine Networking Meeting May 27, 2020 8 www.EnergyMedicineSpecialists.com Although I have formally studied Wicca, I am a gentle and eclectic practicing witch, who also believes in a Being over all others, representing the collective WE and comprised of LOVE. I come from a genetic line of Irish witches; my Great Grandmother, Grandmother, and my mother and her two sisters. I also have two sisters, one of which claims her witchcraft. In honor of my mother, Eva, this year I created a witches’ garden. Mom was a gardener that created abundant produce and natural beauty, with an amazing ability to coax the smallest seed or most discarded space to grow beauty in the world. This year I reworked my entire back yard to represent beauty, ease, and a varied growing/blooming season! All but the Lavender and Mint are in my backyard sanctuary. The Lavender is by the front door for Love, Protection, Purification and Happiness! The spearmint is there, by the pond for Love, Luck, (safe) Travel, and Protection.

Thank you for your interest! Blessed be! Janna
