Some of these startups have gone on to be high-profile exits. Israel’s fintech ecosystem was home to some 475 active startups at the end of 2017, up from 159 in 2012. Startups in the payments subsector accounted for 30% of the total fintech sector funding. It is beyond doubt that this country produces a very big amount of tech startups for its size. As the Israeli tech ecosystem matures, there is a diversification in skills and experience appropriate for different stages in the companies’ lifestyle. Startups and scale-ups require high levels of innovation and cutting-edge technology. As the ecosystem continues to grow and evolve, there is no reason that you would not enjoy both worlds. The rise of “open innovation” Traditionally, large companies engage in internal or external research and development, whether by having their own in-house R&D teams or acquiring companies for their human or knowledge capabilities. To date, over 300 multinationals have tapped into Israeli innovation by setting up R&D labs in the country, usually to work on their most cutting-edge products. In recent years, more companies have adopted “open innovation” in Israel. They work with startups and mentor entrepreneurs – but with no strings attached. Even though these companies might acquire the startups eventually, their main goal is to integrate into Israel’s innovation ecosystem and understand the latest developments in their fields. If you want to stay close to innovation, you need to stay close to startups.” Israel IMS, together with its partner in CEE and APAC Httpool, exclusively represents more than 18 advertising platforms throughout 37 emerging markets in these regions, serving as digital equalizers and enabling the digital transformation for these markets. • Ideológicas No Insucesso Do Processo De Paz Israelo- Palestinianas: Uma Abordagem Psico-Social

Abstract For over a decade Israel has been strengthening links with Arab Gulf states with which it has no diplomatic relations. Evidence of a convergence of Israel’s stra- tegic views with those of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain has accumulated as all displayed hostility to Iran’s regional ambitions and to United States President Barack Obama’s policies during the Arab Spring.

  • Why Israel Is Quietly Cosying up to Gulf Monarchies | World News | the Guardian
9/26/2019 Why Israel is quietly cosying up to Gulf monarchies | World news | The Guardian Why Israel is quietly cosying up to Gulf monarchies After decades of hostility, a shared hatred of Iran and a mutual fondness for Trump is bringing Israel’s secret links with Gulf kingdoms out into the open. By Ian Black Main image: Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu with the Sultan of Oman, Qaboos bin Said Al Said, in Muscat in October 2018. Photograph: Anadolu Agency/Getty Images Tue 19 Mar 2019 06.00 GMT n mid-February 2019, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, flew to Warsaw for a highly unusual conference. Under the auspices of the US vice-president, Mike Pence, he met the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and two other Gulf states that have no diplomatic relations with Israel. The main item on the agenda was containing Iran. No Palestinians were present. Most of the existing links between Israel and the Gulf have been kept secret – but these talks were not. In fact, Netanyahu’s office leaked a video of a closed session, Iembarrassing the Arab participants. The meeting publicly showcased the remarkable fact that Israel, as Netanyahu was so keen to advertise, is winning acceptance of a sort from the wealthiest countries in the Arab world – even as the prospects for resolving the longstanding Palestinian issue are at an all-time low. This unprecedented rapprochement has been driven mainly by a shared animosity towards Iran, and by the disruptive new policies of Donald Trump. Hostility to Israel has been a defining feature of the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East since Israel’s creation in 1948 and the expulsion or flight of more than 700,000 Palestinians – which Arabs call the Nakba, or catastrophe – that accompanied it.

  • In Search of a Viable Option Evaluating Outcomes to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
Policy Report In Search of a Viable Option Evaluating Outcomes to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict A report by Dr. Shira Efron and Evan Gottesman, with a foreword by Ambassador Daniel B. Shapiro Is the two-state solution still possible? Are other frameworks better or more feasible than two states? This study seeks to answer these questions through a candid and rigorous analysis. Is there another viable outcome? While the two-state model deserves to be debated on its merits, and certainly on its viability, pronouncements of this formula’s death raise the question: if not two states, then what? About the Study The two-state solution has been widely criticized from the right and the left as an idea whose time has passed and been overtaken by facts on the ground. As a result, many other models for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict have been advanced, from one-state formulas to confederation outcomes to maintaining the status quo indefinitely. How do these proposals for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict — including the recently released Trump plan — measure up against key criteria, like keeping Israel Jewish and democratic, providing security, and ensuring feasibility? Is there a model that fits the needs of both parties while being realistic in practice? This comprehensive study of potential outcomes for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict assesses the strengths and weaknesses of different plans, and trains a critical eye on whether a two-state solution is still possible, concluding that despite the heavy lift it will take to implement, a two-state outcome is not only possible but the only implementable plan that maintains Israel as Jewish and democratic.
