How to prevent injuries while Training Have a routine medical check.— Always visit your doctor before beginning a new excersise programme. Any new activity can stress your body. Your doctor can let you know what your limits might be and suggest and appropriate amount of excersise for you. Gradually Increase Time and Intensity.— When starting an excersis programme, many people have lots of enthusiasm initially, and go too hard, too soon.Begin moderately, gradually building as your body gets used to the training. Warm up before Exercising.— A proper, gradual warm up goes a long way to prevent injuries. The warm up can consist of walking, jogging or simply streatching. Going through your regular activity at a snails pace also helps warm up the body, plus lets you recap items learnt I previous classes. Don’t work on empty.— while you don't want to excersise immediately after eating a large meal, eating about 2 hours before excersis can help fuel your excersise and help you avoid weakening during workout. Drink before you exercise.— Dehydration can kill your performance, so stay ell hydrated. Try to drink 16 oz of water about 2 hours before you workout and then take in water during your workout to replace any lost fluids Listen to your body. –I If you experience any sharp pain, weakness or light—headedness during excersise, pay attention. This is your body’s signal that something is wrong and you should stop excersise. Pushing through acute pain, is the fastest way to develop a severe or chronic in jury. If you don't feel well, you should take some time off until your body heals. Take time for reast and Recovery.— In addition to getting enough sleep, it is important to take some rest days. Working out too much for too long can lead to overtraining syndrome and possibly reduce your immunity. These next few weeks are going to be very hot.. please bring lots of water to training..drink ..even when not thirsty. Dehydration catches you very quickly. This past month was extremely busy as far as tournaments are concerned. All the student's who participated did very well. Well done to all. For example, could the contestant use his knife to make kindling for a fire? The challenge here was to produce, in thirty seconds, RIPOSTE a large quantity of splinters from a six inch 2X4. HANGING PLASTIC BOTTLE This extremely difficult test involved severing an empty 16 ounce plastic water THE 2003 BLADE SHOW bottle. The bottle was suspended in mid air by a single upholstery thread. The tricky part was cutting the bottle without breaking the thread in the process! After a long absence and much urging from our loyal customers and fans, we decided to attend the Blade show in Atlanta one more time. Here are some of the ROPE CUT high points and low points from our perspective. The final event of the day required each contestant to predict the total number of free hanging manila ropes he could sever in a single stroke. The difficult part, of course, involved living up to one’s prediction. Failure to cut the predicted number HIGH POINTS... of ropes would result in a no score. Throughout the contest, spectators were entertained and educated by the folksy, down home banter of M.C. Jerry Fisk, who did a fantastic job keeping the event on CUSTOMERS AND FANS course.

  • Rules and Options
Rules and Options The author has attempted to draw as much as possible from the guidelines provided in the 5th edition Players Handbooks and Dungeon Master's Guide. Statistics for weapons listed in the Dungeon Master's Guide were used to develop the damage scales used in this book. Interestingly, these scales correspond fairly well with the values listed in the d20 Modern books. Game masters should feel free to modify any of the statistics or optional rules in this book as necessary. It is important to remember that Dungeons and Dragons abstracts combat to a degree, and does so more than many other game systems, in the name of playability. For this reason, the subtle differences that exist between many firearms will often drop below what might be called a "horizon of granularity." In D&D, for example, two pistols that real world shooters could spend hours discussing, debating how a few extra ounces of weight or different barrel lengths might affect accuracy, or how different kinds of ammunition (soft-nosed, armor-piercing, etc.) might affect damage, may be, in game terms, almost identical. This is neither good nor bad; it is just the way Dungeons and Dragons handles such things. Who can use firearms? Firearms are assumed to be martial ranged weapons. Characters from worlds where firearms are common and who can use martial ranged weapons will be proficient in them. Anyone else will have to train to gain proficiency— the specifics are left to individual game masters. Optionally, the game master may also allow characters with individual weapon proficiencies to trade one proficiency for an equivalent one at the time of character creation (e.g., monks can trade shortswords for one specific martial melee weapon like a war scythe, rogues can trade hand crossbows for one kind of firearm like a Glock 17 pistol, etc.).

That moment when an author dots the last period to his manuscript, and then rises up from the study-chair to shake its many and bulky pages together is almost as exciting an occasion as -when he takes a quire or so of foolscap and sits down to write the first line of it. Many and mingled feelings pervade his mind, and hope and fear vie with one another and alternately overcome one another, until at length the author finds some slight relief for his feelings and a kind of excuse for his book, by writing a preface, in which he states briefly the nature and character of the work, and begs the pardon of the reader for his presumption in undertaking it. International Ryukyu Kobudo Federation N A T I O E R N T A N L I RYUKYU F E KOBUDO N D O E R A T I Ryukyu Kobudo is the practice of martial arts weapons that developed in the Ryukyu Islands. The Ryukyu Islands are a chain of islands extending southwest from the southern end of Kyushu Island in Japan. Notable islands include Okinawa and Hama Higa Islands. The kata names originate from the Kyushu island or village where they s nd developed, or from the master that is sla u I ky credited with the kata. yu R Okinawa Short History Okinawa is the largest island in the Ryukyu Island chain. Both Japanese and Chinese settlers have been there since around 300 BC. By 1340 AD. three kingdoms exist in the Ryukyu Islands, Hokuzan, Chuzan, and Nazan. These three kingdoms are at war with each other for dominance of the island chain. It is at this time that trade begins with China. In 1393 AD. China sends a large group of people to Okinawa as part of the cultural exchange. Included in this group are monks from the Shaolin Temple. This begins the combination of Shaolin Kung Fu with Okinawan Te. In 1429 AD. The Ryukyu Islands are united under one king. The kingdom prospers due to the trade with all of Asia. In 1447 AD. King Sho Shin bans all weapons from civilians to keep the peace. This is the first “Weaponless Period”. In 1609 AD. the Satsuma clan invades the Ryukyu Islands and captures the King.
