Understanding the need to maintain a competitive edge in the global economy, cities around the world have Progress begun to embark on such visionary projects such as Chicago’s Millenium Park, Korea’s Digital Media City, : Helsinki Finland’s “ Science/ Art Axis” and ’s Digital Mile to name a few. Just this past spring Pittsburgh was been named a winner in the second round of IBM's international Smarter Cities Challenge.
