The last comprehensive list (Barrio-Amorós 2009c) included a total of 333 species, while the current catalogue lists 387 species (370 anurans, 10 caecilians, and seven salamanders), including 28 species not yet described or properly identified. Fifty species and four genera are added to the previous list, 25 species are deleted, and 47 experienced nomenclatural changes. -

A b s t r a c t Article Info The present paper deals with a total of 64 species of beetles and weevils (Coleoptera), Accepted: 29 November 2016 belonging to 52 genera, under 14 families, associated with diverse species of forest and Available Online: 06 December 2016 mulberry plantations, occurring in vast areas and localities of Jammu and Kashmir State. The Coleopteran species of forestry and mulberry importance accounts for 73.43 K e y w o r d s % and 35.93 % respectively. The Coleopteran-fauna (47 spp.), spread over 12 families, is found to be infesting forest trees,viz. Ash, Benne, Birch, Conifers, Elms, Biodiversity Ivy, Maple, Oak, Parrotia, Plane tree, Poplars, Robinia, Salix, and Yew. Of these trees, Checklist Pines showed highest number of Coleopteran species i.e. 18, under 6 families, followed Coleopteran-fauna by Poplars, with 15 spp. (4 families) and Cedars, having 14 spp. (4 families) The Forest trees Mulberry plantations Mulberry plantations (Morus spp.) both endemic as well as exotic, have been observed to be infesting 23 spp. -

MacRae Monsanto Company 700 Chesterfield Parkway West Chesterfield, Missouri 63017 ABSTRACT Eighty species in 60 genera of cerambycid beetles were documented during a 17-year field survey of a national park (George Washington Memorial Parkway) that spans parts of Fairfax County, Virginia and Montgomery County, Maryland. Twelve species are documented for the first time from Virginia. The study increases the number of longhorned beetles known from the Potomac River Gorge to 101 species. Malaise traps and hand picking (from vegetation or at building lights) were the most successful capture methods employed during the survey. Periods of adult activity, based on dates of capture, are given for each species. Relative abundance is noted for each species based on the number of captures. Notes on plant foraging associations are noted for some species. Two species are considered adventive to North America. David Rider, Systematic Entomologist Gerald Fauske, Research specialist Paul Tinerella, Graduate student Department of Entomology North Dakota State University Fargo, ND May 2000 ABSTRACT From 1995 through 1999 an ongoing study was conducted to examine the effects of standard prairie management practices (burning, grazing, haying) and unmanaged prairie, with regard to arthropod communities. Additional objectives were to gather baseline data on the arthropod species present on remnant prairies of western Minnesota, to identify rare species found on theses sites, and if possible, to determine prairie indicator species which might be used to identify dry, mesic, or wet prairies types in a manner similar to the plant indicator species used in botanical studies. At present, nearly 35,000 insect specimens have been pinned, labeled, and identified representing more than 750 species. As additional material is processed and identified, we expect the number of species found on these sites to more than double, perhaps even triple. This report provides a summary of work completed as of May, 2000, and includes species lists, information on species distributions (state records and extensions of known species ranges), presence of rare or state endangered species on these prairies, diversity indices for prairie sites, types, and management practices, and management histories of the study areas.
