It carried a 17 pdr anti-tank gun in a purpose built turret, mounted on a modified Cromwell tank chassis. The turret is rather bulky and lightly armoured, but the extra room greatly improves gunnery. Its powerful Challenger Challenger engine ensures that it can easily keep up with the fast moving Tank Tank armoured recce units. It has a low silhouette, all-purpose gun, reasonable armour, Cromwell IV Cromwell IV and the powerful Meteor engine – based on the Rolls Royce Tank Tank Merlin aircraft engine. On road, the Cromwell is faster even Cromwell Platoon than the Comet.
