PAX year book 2010 by Nickeledge Photography, Pixel Art, Layout, Introduction by: Tom Dougherty (NickelEdge) Introduction Edited by: Chris Caruso thanks for the help DantePendragon PAX year book 2010 SECOND EDITION FIRST PRINTING on Demand printing pax.nickeledge.com Photography & Pixel Art: © Thomas Dougherty 2011 Speciacl thanks: all of Metroid Metal Grant Henry Kirbby Danimal Cannon Dan Talylor Kevin Lawrence Paul & Storm Shota Nakama Video Game Orchestra Jonathan Coulton Mc Frontalot Minibosses Protomen Anamanaguchi Mike, Jerry, Kiko & Khoo the ENFORCERS you guys rock AND everyone I got to meet while at PAX PAX Changes Everything I have games to play & thousands of friends to talk with. -NickelEdge For a few days we come together free of judgment and undaunted by what those outside think. A shared passion for video games makes the long lines bearable and we bond over ques- tions like “what DS game is that?” or “Did you play this?” PAX is like a sand box game, there is no one right way to enjoy it. You can bring your rig and enjoy a massive LAN party, or hit up the free play area. Be a rock god up on stage with Rock Band. Or maybe your just taking a nap on a Sumo Bag. We the loyal fans can catch trailers and demos scattered around the exhibit halls in search of the one game we must play, only to discover ten more that enthrall us. Spread throughout, like so many random encounters are the opportunities to pick up the gathering swag and the merch that will weigh our suitcases down on the journey home. There is so much to do: handheld lounge, Jam Space, ex- hibit hall, panels, table top gaming, Omegathon, free play, etc. Even with the submission of the sun to the moon the trembling beast rages on. More panels wait, late night movies, and of course the concerts. Riled up by a DOS prompt we await to enter a frenzy. The concerts go beyond just music, but are a social event in itself with us sharing our adventure. Here you you rock out to Metroid Metal or raise your ds / app lighter to Paul & Storm singing “Nugget Man”. The end of the first night’s concert is just a pause on PAX –two more days remain. With the official end and the last Omeganaut standing over the conquered, AXP continues on the adventure 127.0.0.1, whether by planes, trains or chocobos. When you arrive 127.0.0.1, sharing the experience with those that couldn’t go themselves, and it continues in shared experi- ences with shared memories, until the brood returns. Till then enjoy these memories I have gath- ered and preserved for you. photography by: “NickelEdge” Thomas Dougherty penny-arcade.com Gabe & Tycho Wil Weaton Red vs. Blue: Monty, Burnie, Gus, Geoff Kris Straub Scott Kurtz OMEGATHON PAX east 2010 final round four NES game race OMEGANAUTS PAX prime 2010 OMEGATHON PAX prime 2010 “Gabe” Mike Krahulik “Tycho” Jerry Holkins anamanaguchi.com Ohhh Yeeeah! -Anamanaguchi Peter Berkman James DeVito Ary Warnaar Luke Silas jonathancoulton.com I have no idea what PAX is, I assumed everyone was here to see me. -J Jonathan Coulton Jonathan Coulton Chris Anderson Marty Beller Molly Lewis & Kristen Shirts frontalot.com (insert quote here) Mc F “Mc Frontalot” Brandon Patton “the Sturgenius” Vic-20 Beefy Mc Frontalot’s butler Jamie Gower Rai Kamishiro metroidmetal.com PAX is as awesome as we imagine touching a boob might be. -the whole band “Stemage” Grant Henry “Chunkstyle” Dan Taylor Kevin Lawrence “Danimal” Dan Behrens “Danimal” Dan Behrens “Kirby” Micheal Molnar minibosses.com it’s nice to have a home away from home every year -MINIBOSSES Aaron Burke Robin Vining Kelly Turner Matt Wood paulandstorm.com PAX is like a huge party where everyone is the 'cool kids.' -P&S Paul Sabourin “Storm” Greg DiCostanzo “Storm” Greg DiCostanzo Jason Finn rotome protomen.com rotome It’s like the Nothing never was! -The Protomen K.I.L.L.R.O.Y. “the Commander” “Murphy” “Panther” “Turbo Lover” “the Gambler” “the Gambler” “Nightwalker” “Sir Robert Bakker” “Gunslinger” “Reanimator” vgo-online.org PAX is the best place to see people rocking out with Rockestral Game Music -Shota Nakama PAX is like a huge party where everyone is the 'cool kids.' “PAX is the best place to see people -Paul & Storm rocking out with Rockestral Game Music” -VGO -Metroid Metal it’s nice to have a home away from home every year -MINIBOSSES PAX is as awesome as we imagine touching a boob might be..
