Adian Firnas, M.Si iv ABSTRAK Skripsi ini membahas upaya diplomasi digital United Kingdom (UK) terhadap publik Mesir melalui media sosial twitter terkait bidang pendidikan periode 2014-2018. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana upaya diplomasi yang dilakukan oleh UK terhadap publik Mesir melalui media sosial twitter. Kemunculan media sosial di kalangan kedubes dan dubes menjadi sebuah trend terutama pasca revolusi yang terjadi pada 2011 di beberapa negara di Afrika Timur Tengah (ATT). Penggunaan teknologi komunikasi dan informasi digital dalam diplomasi UK telah berlangsung sejak 1995. Walaupun demikian, penggunaan media sosial dalam diplomasi UK merupakan praktik diplomasi digital paling baru yang digunakan oleh pemerintah UK. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data studi literatur melalui buku, jurnal, dokumen pemerintah, tweet dari akun @UKInEgypt dan @JohnCassonUK serta sumber terkait lainnya. Kemudian, skripsi ini menggunakan konsep Diplomasi Publik dan Diplomasi Digital. Berdasarkan kerangka konseptual tersebut, alasan UK melakukan diplomasi terhadap publik Mesir melalui twitter adalah untuk menciptakan ruang dialog (listening dan advocacy) dan mencapai tujuan utama diplomasi publik UK. Untuk mewujudkan alasan tersebut, UK melakukan dua upaya yaitu melakukan digital agenda setting dan digital conversation- generating. Techno- logically, this classroom is several years ahead of most of its peers, with a dedicated high speed connection to the Internet and several computers capable of displaying video and audio material. These capabilities include a new service called Internet CNN Newsroom, which enables the retrieval of current and archival news footage through the World Wide Web. While the students and teachers have integrated some of these capabilities into their learning and teaching, other features have been neglected.
