photo: Severine Stier Built around the 1200s, the solemn gates create a unique realm inside the modern city of Tallinn, Estonia. Inside the gates lives an original medieval town surrounded by a moat. photo: Severine Stier The choir took a tour of the grand Latvian National Opera House and sung on the stage with one of its tour guides. photo: Severine Stier The House of the Blackheads, which was formerly the headquarters of the Blackhead political group, is located in Riga, Latvia and is the current workplace of the Latvian president. Refurbished in the 1990s, the building has lost its antique prestige but found new meaning as a modern political office.
