EXHIBITION – THE BRILLIANT 80S 15.05.-30.09. 11:00-19:00 This bright and extravagant exhibition dedicated to fashion from the 1980s is being organized in cooperation with the Alexandre Vassiliev Foundation. This brilliant period in fashion was known for young woman wearing broad shoulders and voluminous hairstyles. This quote belongs to Nikolai Kormashov (Николай Кормашов, 1929-2012) – an artist and collector from Estonia, who during his lifetime managed to collect and restore a sizable collection of Russian icons dating from the 15th to the 20th centuries.

EXHIBITION OF DAYLILIES 01.-04.08. 10:00-17:00 (III, V), 10:00-19:00 (IV), 11:00-17:00 (VI-VII) The life of a blossom of a daylily is short, but rich – it blooms for just 24 hours, while new blossoms are opening every day for two months. An exhibition that has been organized in cooperation with "Hedera Gardens" every day will display more than 100 different daylilies (Hemerocallis). Natural History Museum of Latvia

EXHIBITION OF SWORDLILIES 14.-18.08. 10:00-17:00 (III, V), 10:00-19:00 (IV), 11:00-17:00 (VI-VII) The smallest swordlily bulb at the end of summer turns into a royal flower and has always been a sign of the first days of autumn. Blossoms can be used in various ways – in flower bouquets, in compositions. By regularly removing the old blossoms, swordlilies stay beautiful for a long time. This year cultivators and collectors of the Latvian Gladiolus and Iris Society will present more than 150 varieties of swordlilies. Natural History Museum of Latvia

EXHIBITION – LATVIAN ARTISTS FROM THE PENZA ART SCHOOL 22.08.-01.02.20 11:00-18:00 (III-VI), 11:00-19:00 (II) The Penza Art School in Russia is where many young Latvian artists went to study in 1915 at the outbreak of the First World War. Valdemārs Tone, Konrāds Ubāns, Kārlis Johansons, Romans Suta and other young artists from the Riga City Art School wound up at the Penza Art School. EXHIBITION OF DAHLIAS 05.-08.09. 10:00-17:00 (III, V), 10:00-19:00 (IV), 11:00-17:00 (VI-VII) The exhibition hall in these days will be filled with hundreds of dahlias – some are local ones, but others come from closer and farther countries. Dahlias show a variety of colors and shades. In fact, those are not just separate blossoms, but a composition of florets that resemble fireworks in the sky. In order to ensure a full variety of the mushrooms found in Latvian nature, museum specialists visit forests each morning to collect new and fresh samples.
