Digital TV w/ QAM digital tuner Coaxial cable Your TV set must have a QAM digital tuner in order to view the digital signal. TVs that have a “flat screen” or are “HD ready” may not have a QAM tuner, so please check the manual. If you are considering purchasing a new TV, we recommend that you NOT purchase the following models as they may experience problems working with the cable system: o Emerson LC320EM2F o Emerson LC401EM2F o Insignia (all models) o Magnavox P2MF23ID/37 o Sylvania LC220SL1 o Sharp 32” Aquos If you have one of these models and are experiencing problems, you can resolve the issue by purchasing a converter box (please see the next section to learn more about converter boxes). How do I make my older TV work on the school’s digital cable system? If you have an older analog television, you will need to purchase an Clear QAM compatible digital-to-analog converter box. Students can purchase a box online (http://www.campustelevideo.com/videoandinternetsupport/38). The Bookstore will also have several boxes available for sale or to rent. How do I program channels into my TV? The steps for programming TV sets vary with each manufacturer and model. Please refer to your TV’s manual for more specific instructions. In general, the procedure is as follows: Step 1: Press the “Menu” Button Step 2: Select “Set-Up” Step 3: Select “Antenna” then “Cable” Step 4: Select “Auto Program/Auto Tune” then “OK” The scan may take a between 20 - 45 minutes to complete. If you are having trouble programming your television, please contact the Housing Office at 814-362-7630. How do I view programs in high definition? To view high definition (HD) programs, you must have an HD television set. Finally, the program you are viewing must be broadcasted in HD. Some networks may show classic content in a standard definition format. Please remember that HD cannot be viewed if you are using a converter box. I don’t see a channel I want. Can I order it? Students cannot order a specific channel for their room only. However, residents are able to request changes to the lineup for the entire campus. Student Government makes recommendations for changes to the channel lineup each term. If you have a request that you would like to make, please contact a Student Government representative. Not all channels are available through our cable service provider. How do I report problems with my cable service? Problems with the cable service should be reported to the CTM Services Office 362-7660. A member of the CTM Services staff will help you resolve the issue if possible or report it to the appropriate person for action. .

In December 2004, Congress enacted the Satellite Home Viewer Extension and Reauthorization Act of 2004 (“SHVERA”),1 which amended the copyright laws and the Communications Act of 1934, as amended (the “Act”), to further aid the competitiveness of satellite carriers and expand program offerings for their subscribers. Specifically, SHVERA amended Section 339(a)(2)(D) of the Act to permit satellite subscribers to qualify for satellite retransmission of distant digital network signals under circumstances specified in the Act.2 Of relevance here, a satellite subscriber whose household is predicted to be served3 by the analog signal of a local network station, and who is seeking a distant digital signal of another station affiliated with the same network as that local network station, may attempt to demonstrate eligibility for reception of the distant digital signal via satellite based on a signal test to determine if its over-the-air digital signal of the local network station does not meet the digital signal intensity standard in Section 73.622(e)(1) of the Commission’s rules.4 A subscriber may request such a test beginning April 30, 2006, if such local network station is within the top 100 television markets and has received a tentative channel designation on its allotted digital channel or has lost interference protection; or, beginning July 15, 2007, for any other full power local 5 network station.

  • I. Tv Stations
Before the FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Washington, DC 20554 In the Matter of ) ) MB Docket No. 17- WSBS Licensing, Inc. ) ) ) CSR No. For Modification of the Television Market ) For WSBS-TV, Key West, Florida ) Facility ID No. 72053 To: Office of the Secretary Attn.: Chief, Policy Division, Media Bureau PETITION FOR SPECIAL RELIEF WSBS LICENSING, INC. SPANISH BROADCASTING SYSTEM, INC. Nancy A. Ory Paul A. Cicelski Laura M. Berman Lerman Senter PLLC 2001 L Street NW, Suite 400 Washington, DC 20036 Tel. (202) 429-8970 April 19, 2017 Their Attorneys -ii- SUMMARY In this Petition, WSBS Licensing, Inc. and its parent company Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (“SBS”) seek modification of the television market of WSBS-TV, Key West, Florida (the “Station”), to reinstate 41 communities (the “Communities”) located in the Miami- Ft. Lauderdale Designated Market Area (the “Miami-Ft. Lauderdale DMA” or the “DMA”) that were previously deleted from the Station’s television market by virtue of a series of market modification decisions released in 1996 and 1997. SBS seeks recognition that the Communities located in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties form an integral part of WSBS-TV’s natural market. The elimination of the Communities prior to SBS’s ownership of the Station cannot diminish WSBS-TV’s longstanding service to the Communities, to which WSBS-TV provides significant locally-produced news and public affairs programming targeted to residents of the Communities, and where the Station has developed many substantial advertising relationships with local businesses throughout the Communities within the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale DMA. Cable operators have obviously long recognized that a clear nexus exists between the Communities and WSBS-TV’s programming because they have been voluntarily carrying WSBS-TV continuously for at least a decade and continue to carry the Station today.

  • List of Directv Channels (United States)
List of DirecTV channels (United States) Below is a numerical representation of the current DirecTV national channel lineup in the United States. Some channels have both east and west feeds, airing the same programming with a three-hour delay on the latter feed, creating a backup for those who missed their shows. The three-hour delay also represents the time zone difference between Eastern (UTC -5/-4) and Pacific (UTC -8/-7). All channels are the East Coast feed if not specified. High definition Most high-definition (HDTV) and foreign-language channels may require a certain satellite dish or set-top box. Additionally, the same channel number is listed for both the standard-definition (SD) channel and the high-definition (HD) channel, such as 202 for both CNN and CNN HD. DirecTV HD receivers can tune to each channel separately. This is required since programming may be different on the SD and HD versions of the channels; while at times the programming may be simulcast with the same programming on both SD and HD channels. Part time regional sports networks and out of market sports packages will be listed as ###-1. Older MPEG-2 HD receivers will no longer receive the HD programming. Special channels In addition to the channels listed below, DirecTV occasionally uses temporary channels for various purposes, such as emergency updates (e.g. Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike information in September 2008, and Hurricane Irene in August 2011), and news of legislation that could affect subscribers. The News Mix channels (102 and 352) have special versions during special events such as the 2008 United States Presidential Election night coverage and during the Inauguration of Barack Obama.
