Unsafe installation or operation can be dangerous, and could possibly cause risk of fire or injury. 1. Unfold your warmer to its full size on the bed. Turn the warmer so that the male cord connection(s) on the warmer is at the foot of the bed and the connection is on the upper side of the warmer, this will put the wired side of the warmer against the mattress. 2. Be sure the skirt of the warmer is fitted tightly over your mattress to keep the warmer stretched out to its full size. Do not use excessive padding over the warmer which can cause heat build up and dangerous overheating. Always use the correct size warmer for your bed when using a fitted warmer so the warmer fits snug on your bed. Example: a twin warmer on a twin bed. Do not tuck in any wired area, the plug, or supply cord. 3. Excess heating may result from folding the mattress pad. Check warmer often and at least every time bedding is changed to be sure it is stretched to full size. 4. Connect the control cord(s) with the female plug(s) into the male cord connection(s) at the foot of the bed. Be sure the control is unplugged from the electrical outlet and the control turned off. Be sure the plug is pushed firmly and completely into the receptacle. 5. Run the control cord(s) under the bed and plug the power cord into a 120 Volt, 60Hz outlet. Let the cord hang free - Do not route the cord between the mattress and box spring. Do not allow the cords to be pinched. 6. Set your control(s) on your night stand. Be sure not to cross the control wires if you have a dual control warmer. 7. Prevent the cord from becoming pinched by the bed’s frame. Do not use pins – They may damage electric wiring. 8. This warmer has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a safety feature. This plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. 9. Turn off or unplug unit when not in use. Do not use on a pull-out bed or a fold-up bed. 10. Keep the control away from drafty areas that may become damp or wet such as an open window. 11. Wrapping of cord around the controller may damage the cord. Loop loosely when storing. 12. Not for hotel, motel, or other institutional use. 13. If improper operation of this bedding is observed, discontinue its use immediately and consult the manufacturer or the dealer regarding its repair. CAUTION: Do not use warmer with an infant, an immobile person, or anyone insensitive to heat, such as a person with poor blood circulation. Do not use when wet. NEVER use this warmer as a loose covering, or on a chair, couch, sofa bed, or anywhere the warming pad could become folded or bunched up. If heat is concentrated, or confined, it can build up causing overheating and possible risk of fire or injury. The warmer is built to give the greatest possible safety, comfort and economy, but only while spread to full size on your bed as described in these instructions. Do not use it in any other way. MxxF’s OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: Do not use this bed warmer unless it is installed to full size. Failure to follow instructions could cause overheating and possible risk of fire or injury. Read the installation instructions above before operating. 1. After the warmer has been installed, push the on/off button to turn the control on. The control has 10 settings from “L” to “H”. Upon the first power up the control will start at a setting of ”L” (low). Pushing on the up arrow will increase the control to a warmer heat setting. The control automatically pre-warms the bed at full power for a period of time that is related to the setting, no need to preheat at a high setting. 2. The control is equipped with a backlight that comes on for 10 seconds after the user turns on or adjusts the setting and then turns off. The backlight turns off to save power and to provide an undisturbed sleep environment. 3. Be patient. It may require several minutes to warm your bed. The warmer must be covered to trap the warmth or it may seem not to be heating. The pad may feel cool to your hand, but it will be warm when you lie on it. See 4 below. 4. The control(s) may be adjusted to regulate the warmth. Adjust the control up or down one number at a time until you find the desired temperature setting. The control will hold that heat setting in memory after turning it off, or after the 10 hour auto off, and will be the default setting the next time the control is turned on. The exception is if there is a power outage or the plug is removed from the outlet, then you must reset the heat setting. 5. Do not expect to feel warmth at settings below 2 unless the room is cold. 6. Test your warmer only when it is installed, covered, and the control is set at “H”. If the warmer is not covered, heat will escape rapidly and the warmer may not feel warm to your hand even though it is operating properly. All warmers are thoroughly tested before being packaged. Be sure the plug makes a good connection in the outlet. 7. The control is equipped with an automatic 10 hour shut-off. After 10 hours of continuous use the warmer will shut off. To turn the control back on press the on/off button. 8. The control is equipped with a safety feature that will prevent heating in an unsafe condition and will read “F” when in that mode. If this occurs, turn control off and check the engagement of the cord to the pad. After re-engaging the connector, turn the control back on. If “F” still appears on the control then a failure has occurred and the pad should not be used. WASHING INSTRUCTIONS Do Not Dry Clean. Dry cleaning will damage the mattress pad wiring.
