Organized by: Jusprudentia-Society for Transcendence in Law About Conference Jusprudentia is privileged to announce its first conference in the name of late Pt. Kanhaiya Lal Misra having being impressed by his status and contribution to the field of law and advocacy and who is a source of inspiration behind entire Jusprudentia organization. Jusprudentia‟s 1st Kanhaiya Lal Misra National Conference on Human Rights‟ will act as a platform for all students and other intellectuals from all over the country to come together and discuss various measures to be taken to eliminate discrimination that is prevailing at present day. It is rightly said that no one can change the world in one day but everyone can do their part. This is a small initiative from our side to make world a better place to live in. About Late Pt. Kanhaiya Lal Misra Pt. Kanhaiya Lal Misra, ('Punditji'), was born on 31 August 1903 (Krishna Janmashtami) in a Brahmin family of Mariyadpur in district Azamgarh, U.P., India. He was Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh, India from 1952 to 1969. As he was born on Krishna Janmashtami his parents named him Kanhaiya Lal. He was the eldest of four sons and one daughter of Pt. Baijnath Misra, a civil and a criminal lawyer, at the Azamgarh Bar, and a long-serving M.L.C. Pt. K. L. Misra was the fourth Advocate General of the state of Uttar Pradesh since the creation of the position of Advocate General in 1937, the year that saw the formation of the first responsible representative government in the province by the Indian National Congress, under the Government of India Act, 1935. He held this position for 17 years - 1952 till 1969 - during which period different political parties across the political spectrum were elected and formed the government. This remains a record as of date - October 2015. He resigned as Advocate General U.P. in 1969 - the year his wife expired. As Advocate General U.P. he was closely associated with the Government and the Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh: Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant, Dr. Sampurnanand, Sri C.B. Gupta, Smt. Sucheta Kripalani and Sri Charan Singh. He attained excellence in the legal profession in the country and appeared in most High Courts and Supreme Court of India. During the time he was Advocate General of U.P. and even thereafter he appeared for several states of the country in important cases, viz. Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal etc. Some famous cases conducted by him were the Blitz case in the Bombay High Court, Maharashtra – Mysore boundary dispute, case of Sri Pratap Singh Kairon, for States of West Bengal and Bihar, in-famous Symbol Case before the Election Commission, Gorakhnath Case in the Supreme Court and in the case against Murdhra etc. He had the distinction of appearing against almost all the top advocates of the country. He appeared successfully for the state of Bihar against the Raja of Ramgarh in the Calcutta High court. He commanded the top position on both civil and criminal side and attained the position of a legal luminary and senior advocate. Pt. K.L. Misra conducted on behalf of the ruling Congress, the Indian Congress Party Symbol Case in the Supreme Court, was also responsible for defending the State Government in the State Zamindari Abolition case and defended for some time Mrs Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister, in her election petition case at the Allahabad High Court prior to his falling ill and thereafter the case was handed over to Mr. Sri Satish Chand Khare, Senior Advocate. Mrs Gandhi subsequently lost this case which led to the Emergency being imposed in India He was the Chairman of the Bar Council (17/12/1961 to 09/03/1969), President of the Bar Association of Allahabad,[5] President of the Harish Chandra Research Institute and member of its executive council, President of the Prayag Sangeet Samiti, President of the Hindi Sahitya Sammellan to name a few. He also had the honour to serve the Allahabad University as its Hon‟ Treasurer and as a member of its executive council and also judged answer papers of the Law examination way above the L.L.B. degree that he held as his personal educational qualification in Law. A relatively unknown trait of Punditji was his poetry writing capabilities (in Hindi) when emotionally charged - like on demise of his wife, Gayatri Devi. Pt. Kanhaiya Lal Misra, former Advocate General U.P., India, a leading luminary and a prominent Congress leader died of heart failure on 14 October 1975 morning at his Park Road residence on Dussehra. His cremation took place with State Honours in the evening (sunset) of the same day, on the banks of „sangam‟ – the point of mergence of the rivers Ganga and Jamuna - 16th Oct. 1975, Northern India Patrika, Allahabad (U.P.) India. About Jusprudentia-Society for Transcendence in Law “Jusprudentia-Society for transcendence in Law” (headquarters in Allahabad) is a body of legal minds working towards the promotion of administration of justice and the healthy development of law, suitable to social and economic needs of the people. Jusprudentia is actively involved in organizing campaigns for legal awareness and legal information to be used as a tool for advancement of public good and to and provides opportunities to enhance their knowledge and provide platform to get their work acknowledged through publication, information and attend event. The organization intends to promote rule of law and social justice by making provision of free legal aid and by maintenance of an efficient system of legal advice. Jusprudentia provides just the right platform for those young lawyers to shape their intellect, build virtuous vision while embarking their journey towards success and aims to accentuate contemporary legal matters, while coming up with sustainable solutions. Students from different parts of India, have come together to raise issues regarding legal education in India while keeping in view the international standards. Further agenda of this organization will be organizing a number of campaigns and seminars, Conferences, Lectures, Workshops, and International and National Moot Courts etc. in different parts of India regularly, to keep the vigor ignited. Jusprudentia is a Research and Educational organization, one of the best emerging of this kind, which is working to provide various opportunities for educational enhancement and empowerment of Law students, all over India and Abroad. We do it through Legal Awareness Programmes, Internships and Campaigns. Jusprudentia is also a knowledge base of various events being conducted in all the Law Colleges of India and all across the globe. It is a platform for publication of peer reviewed Articles. We have working Journal (Jusprudentia International law Journal). Jusprudentia, Started with the expectations that it will walk several milestones transcending in law. The idea was to create a website where not only the law students but also a student from social sciences stream somehow related to Legal studies can look for academic and career opportunities. To initiate, Jusprudentia is our determination to keep students, researchers, scholars, academicians and teaching fraternity, updated with all the academic opportunities coming their way, in order to boost their career and promote much wider information dissemination. What we started is now growing muscles and emerging as one of the India‟s most leading website for students and faculties. In a very small span, we have planned to share a lot of opportunities. Jusprudentia goes about as a media and gives most recent lawful overhauls. Learning law is one of the most important features of Jusprudentia that can prove beneficial to students, professors and any other person in the legal field. Various kinds of laws and legal topics are discussed elaborately with case notes to help solve doubts and confusions and to know the law. In addition to this, various helpful information, tips and techniques related to law school curriculum are also stored by. For example, FAQs related to mooting and others, calls for research papers for reputed journals, career opportunities, and call as interns, editors and much more important information for law school graduates or students are few of the features of Jusprudentia. We vision to provide opportunities to law students who are unable to make use of available opportunities due to poverty and lack of information and encourage their participation and also make them lean and compete in the mainstream we also encourage communication among the students of different parts of India in an effort to regional understanding and cooperation in general, transcendence in legal education.
